This passage does not fit in our "box". An ill-advised treaty, made under false pretenses, which is ultimately honored and leads to the flourishing of Israel, all while God remains silent. Pastor Ben helps us understand an unusual part of Scripture, and to see ourselves in connection to Jesus.

Who are we? Ephesians 3:17 describes a community that is Rooted in love - come discover our namesake verse!

Though he loved Lazarus, Jesus did not prevent his death. Instead, Jesus foreshadowed the power of his death and resurrection by raising Lazarus from the dead. Rooted celebrates the resurrection of Jesus in our lives on Easter Sunday.

Ever climbed a tree? The strong branches are firmly attached to the main trunk. Jesus claims this metaphor for himself as he warns people about faking a relationship with him, and encourages people about how he prunes and cleans for God-glorifying fruit in us.

The disciples are afraid of the future with Jesus claiming to be leaving them soon. Their fear is answered with an I AM statement that also speaks to the confidence Christians are meant to carry with them each day.

In the second half of John 10, we learn how Jesus constantly provides for us in unexpected ways.

In John 10 Jesus rebukes the Pharisees as thieves and robbers, then says He is the door to salvation. These are not unrelated ideas - hear God's promise to care for his people when the spiritual leaders fail them, and how we gain access to God through Jesus alone.

This particular I AM statement has a parallel in the gospels - Jesus also claims that "you" are the light of the world. Discover what that light is, how Jesus is that light, and how he gives it to the church to be for the world.

Jesus revealed the depth of his Purpose and Character with seven I Am statements in John's gospel. In John 6, Jesus multiplies bread and explains how his future suffering is the basis for our spiritual growth.

Habakkuk's conclusion is a beautiful picture of a joy-filled faith that trusts even when God "dims the lights." This little book teaches us that joy is like a muscle that can be trained and strengthened.

Habakkuk's second face accuses God of having a misplaced sense of morality. Pastor Ben asks if you have ever suffered in a way that felt unjust, and how to develop a mature faith that doesn't give up on God in those moments.

In the first chapter of Habakkuk, "Why God" becomes the Bible's example for how to question reality but maintain faith in a Sustainer. Dive in and learn how to lament.
