One of the most storied and awarded beers in NPBC history, Hop Fu is THE staple IPA that has more accolades then most can even dream of.  Find out why as we knock a few back on a Tuesday.

With multiple tap rooms open and one in development, it's easy to see why it's been forever since Kelsey from North Park Brewing appeared on the show, but we finally got him back!  We kick off a week of beers with something very unexpected, a West Coast Pilsner called Simcoe Slammer. Getting a small taste of Winter to wrap up a week with McIlhenny Brewing!  Every year they release one barrel aged beer and this last year with Molotov Special Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.  But, don't let this 13% ABV monster fool you or scare you, it's incredibly drinkable with amazing flavors and zero heat!

Come for the beer, stay for the story.  The McIlhenny family provenance with New Zealand hops if unchallenged and for good reason, the Rye IPAs they've been making in San Diego are legendary.  Muntz is no exception.  Listen to why and how it all happened. 

McIlhenny Brewing makes an IPA for just about every taste or flavor profile.  In a world where the tropical IPAs are king, why not give the people something else to enjoy?!  Wizards Wand IPA while fraught with hoppy goodness almost expresses a beeriness.  Just try it. 

Not a Gangster for life, but a Dankster for life.  A throwback San Diego/West Cost IPA with some super choice PNW IPAs and a much more significant malt profile that isn't very common anymore. 

It's been (almost) three years since McIlhenny opened their doors in Alpine and we're going to celebrate!  Kicking off a week of beers Jamie and Sean have brought a Helles with a twist, some hops from the Pacific Northwest!

It's the staple that made me fall in love with Bivouac Cider, OMG.  While POG has been a Hawaiian influenced treat many have done a take on, Lara from Bivouac likes to do things that no one else has done.  That's why she put together a Orange, Mango and Guava cider that will have you saying OMG after every sip.

Another Cider from the Road Trip Series and inspired by the Oregon Coast, West Coastin' Blueberry Honey Lavender. Featuring fresh blueberries and lavender with honey from a small PNW farm, this cider has a rich complex nature with a subtle hint of honey.

Inspired by Arizona and our own desert, Prickly Perry get its name from the Prickly Pear fruit in this beverage.  A bold flavor and a beautiful color will have you obsessing over this time and time again.

Helping San Diegans slow down and enjoy, Bivouac Cider opened the doors on their Adventure Lodge.  Grab and stay coffee and food accompany all their wonderful ciders like their current "Road Trip" series cider, Locals Only Pear Citrus Cider.  Featuring local Myers Lemons and Tangerines this cider evokes all the feels of San Diego's citrus bloom in the spring.

In their mission to prove that cider is as approachable as beer yet nuanced as wine,  Bivouac Cider kicks off a week of Last Call with their Albright Dry Pear Cider.  It's dry and crushable but also holds on to a very subtle sweetness thanks to Pear that will keep you coming back sip after sip!

Beware the unmarked bottle!  Shaggy had put this bottle on hold for a celebratory toast, but instead brought it to share on a Friday.  A beer he strictly brews for My Yard Live's barrel program, this monster stout spends a good portion of it's life in Bourbon barrels then gets inoculated with different flavor blends, this creation the Hawaiian Baba Yaga will haunt your dreams!

A welcomed Flight of the Concords reference, Flight of the Kiwi's is the New Zealand IPA from My Yard Live.  Featuring all New Zealand hops to drive tropicality of flavor but balanced out enough to make it very satisfying for West Coast IPA fans.  There is also a small secret about this beer that's brewing for the My Yard Live anniversary, listen to find out what.

There is nothing very sexy about a Brown Ale, especially in a hop obsessed town like San Diego.  But the keepers of the Brown Ale flame like Shaggy from My Yard Live have been honing and perfecting their beers for decades (or just over a decade in this case).  Don't fear the dark beer and experience what 14+ years of recipe perfecting can do in My Yard Live's Man Cub American Brown Ale.

Leave it to a brewer to set a "romantic date night" in the brewery to make a beer for their significant other.  But, it seemed to work out for Shaggy from My Yard Live as the creation between him and his wife Basic Batch landed them an award in the World Beer Cup.  Hear about how he'll never, ever live that moment down and what makes this beer so special.

The crew from My Yard Live has a lot of stories to tell and we start our week of beers with one that reflects both family and community, Quatro Amigos Mexican Lager, a beer that started its life as part of the 4DUDESBREW charity arm of the brewery.  Listen to the story and you'll understand why this is such a beloved beer at the brewery.

Rounding out the week with a stein full of Bonzi Beach, the West Coast Double IPA from Pure.  An insane experience in flavor as this 8.5% ABV DIPA hides all the alcohol in the Nelson, Citra and Simcoe hops giving it an unbelievably light body.

Taking advantage of their fresh crop of Citra hops, Pure Project has crafted a banger of an IPA using nothing but fresh Citra Cryo hops.  Citra Spree is it a true experience in the flavor of this beloved hop, get it now!

Never afraid to take on something new and experiment, Pure Project took the burgeoning beer style of Hazy and crafted their own identity with their "Murky" beers.  Proving at the time that Hazy doesn't mean lazy, Murklands was one of those iconic beers that blurred the lines between a West Coast flavor profiles and East Coast haze.

A Blonde Ale truly in it's own category.  One sip of Tropical Mist Citrus Blonde and you'll be transported to Costa Rica, feeling the jungle mist on your face.  Fresh Valencia oranges, California grown wheat and house murky IPA yeast combine to create flavors you'll want to come back to again and again.

A brand new been from Pure Project they just announced last week in collaboration with Patagonia Provisions.  It uses a new grain  called Kernza that not only adds an unforgettable flavor profile but also is a better more sustainable grain for the planet.

Tomme hinted at it earlier in the week that there was a Double IPA in their line up of new Lost Abbey beers...as we wrap up the week, he delivered!

This beer evokes it's name sake, drinking this IPA will bring you into the right side of happiness.  Brewed with a currently experimental hop it blends the line between traditional West Coast IPAs and today's more tropical/hazy IPAs.

Being a fan of San Diego beers, if someone mentions the style Rye IPA there is one beer in specific many people think of, this is not that beer.  In fact, this beer doesn't even resemble that, Unseen Things is it's own unique take on making a Tropical Rye IPA that is a must try beer.
