1 Peter 2:13-17 A new King is crowned. Charles III. A king whose views fall short of the Christian values of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, views which give space for all faiths as Charles declares himself defender of faith rather the the traditional title of defender of 'the faith. As Christians, what is our response to be?

Isaiah 42:1-10 Isaiah the prophet tells us of Jesus Christ our Saviour who is to come in the future. He is prophesied over 700 years before He comes to earth as the Son of God in the flesh, to show love, mercy and hope to a people who believe in Him and what a true reflection it is, and He comes for both Jew and Gentiles sinners alike.

Isaiah 52:13-15 The Servant of God, the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ is said to 'Sprinkle Many Nations.' Not just one nation called Israel, but all nations across the globe. God promised Abraham that his descendants would be as the stars in the sky through the promised seed. The fulfilment of that seed is Jesus Christ and all who believe on Him are part of the spiritual nation of God.

John 6:1-14 One Jesus most well known miracles. The feeding of the five thousand. This sign is so important that it is recorded by all four of the gospel writers, and is the spark which s short time later ignites a deep and telling discourse between the Jews and Jesus in which He reveals what the sign He had just performed amongst them was really about.

Isaiah 52:13-15  The visage of the Servant, God's Servant was marred more than any other man, and His form more than the sons of men. How deep does this go? and what is it that many people were so astonished at when gazing upon this One who shall be exalted, extolled and be very high?

John 5:31-47 Jesus, knowing His testimony of Himself will not be enough in the courts of Jewish minds, gives them the fourfold witness outside of Himself. John the Baptist. The works He came to finish and the works He does amongst them. The witness of His own Father, and the Witness of the Word.

After showing previously that these scriptures in Isaiah 52:13-15 regarding 'My Servant' are concerning the Messiah to come and which is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, we go on to look into how the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of God, the second person the blessed Trinity, can not only be God's servant but as a propitiation, a ransom for many!

Isaiah 52:13-15 God speaking through the prophet Isaiah speaks of 'My Servant.' Most Christians would identify this Servant as none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. And they would be right. However, the context never gives a name for this Servant, so how can we be sure this is indeed speaking of Jesus, especially to the Jewish people who interpret this as meaning so many other prophets but not Je...

John 5:16-23  The Pharisees professed love and service to God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jesus told them they were whitewashed sepulchres, clean on the outside but full of dead men's bones inside. If we Know Jesus, we know the Father. He who rejects Jesus, rejects the Father. He finished His work on the sixth day (Good Friday, "It is Finished), He lay in the grave on the Sabbath day (Rested) and rose again to make the sabbath ceremonial law obsolete, creating a brand new day. Matthew 5:11-12  Jesus Tells the disciples how difficult their live will become. That persecution will arise and come upon them for His sake. If they hated Him, they will hate them! In this, they are truly blessed to be honoured to walk the same path as their Lord and Saviour and He assures them that their reward in Heaven will be great!

In Exodus 20:8 God lays down the 4th commandment. Honour the Sabbath Day. What was the Sabbath day? Who did God command to keep it? As we look into this controversial issue we see how serious God takes the breaking of this commandment, so much so that a man caught collecting sticks to make a faire on the Sabbath Day was stoned to death.
