人生生き抜くためには決断力が必要です。GMからオファーがあり、それを考え抜いて最後に移る決断をした瞬間が僕の将来を定めました。悩むこと多かったんですが、今振り返るとよく大決心したなと思います。短いエピソードですが、補足的にGMの心境を話してみました。

ボーティーク・アメリカも終了し、カルフォルニアへ戻り、アメリカでの生活の再スタート。ほぼ五年間の期間の総まとめ。いずれはGMへの道へつながるわけですが、その時に下した決断次第で、人生の航路はとてつもない別の方向へ進んでいた可能性も大。今振り返ると人生の道のりを定めた非常に重要な時期でした。（これはエピソーデ１１番の日本語版です。口頭に13番と間違って言ってしまいました。）

USC卒業後、ロスで日米貿易収支バランス改善を目的とした多種のプロジェクトに参加。日米両政府が日本でボーティーク・アメリカという対日貿易拡大プロジェクトを遂行することに合意した際、そのプロジェクトに当時所属していた会社を通じマーケティング・ディレクターとして参加。今回はそのプロジェクトに参加した経験をもとにエピソードを作成しました。この時で来た人脈が何れ僕をGMにつながる道に導いてくれました。

Returning to Japan with the family to participate in a major US-Japan trade promotion project. This involvement in the project defined my future career path. 

1974、智英子とのアメリカ生活開始。長女愛が1975に誕生。その翌年USCを卒業。就職困難な時期友達の紹介でロスのJETROへ就職。日米貿易戦争の最中、広報会社、プレスエイド社へ移り、対日輸出拡大を奨励する事業などに参画。1985年にGMに入社するまでの道のりの第一歩を踏む。

大学卒業後すぐ智恵子と結婚。日本へ一時戻るものの、大学院に通うために八か月後にはカルフォルニアへリターン。仕事と新婚生活と勉学の両立をし始めた日々の描写。

Life filled with just work and schooling. Ai, our first, was born on March 27. Working the midnight shift and attending school was not easy but I had a goal. Upon graduating from USC, the labor market was weak which led me to an employment with JETRO, Japan's trade promoting organization. And, the rest is hiostory, leading me all the way to General Motors eight years later. 

Getting married to Chieko right after college. Stepping into the adult world. Spending several months in Japan before returning to Los Angeles with Chieko to start our family. First step - USC.
