Revering the Word

I am thankful that God has made clear to us what is good and right and what it evil and not. He does this for our good. We need to in our churches be clear where God is clear. ★ Support this podcast ★

God desires that we would remember how he has blessed us both in our lives and how he has blessed his people throughout history. One of the ways we are to honor Him and show our appreciation to Him is through our giving and generosity. Today is such a great example of why studying the Word of God is so much greater than reading without studying. By seeing Asaph’s role in life and discovering how Asaph was really ahead of his time in understanding that the sacrifice that God really is pleased with is a heart of thanksgiving and a life that reflects that heart. ★ Support this podcast ★

God desires that a man and woman would join together to become one flesh until death do them part. Over the ages many have divorced due to hardness of heart and sin. Jesus does not desire divorce. Sundry Laws are various laws. It takes both understanding the New Testament and wisdom and discretion to know how to apply the Old Testament today. This is why it is important to know the whole Bible. ★ Support this podcast ★

In this chapter and others in the Old Testament sometimes there are things that come across harsh to us today. God’s swift penalty in the Old Testament may have helped people have a proper fear of God to not disobey. Yet, today, as we see in the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15) God is operating under a new agreement with greater grace. ★ Support this podcast ★

Today we see a historical understanding of why God wanted them to destroy the people and nations of the promised land. We also learn how this is changed and God is not asking us to do this today. ★ Support this podcast ★

All the way back in Deuteronomy 18 we see a prophecy about Jesus. The whole Bible points to his coming and his coming again. We also see some direction and some caution regarding prophecy today. ★ Support this podcast ★

Ultimate wisdom is found in Jesus, His Word and getting one foot already seated in heaven. In this way we begin to love with the wisdom of heavens perspective. Those who don’t are living in darkness and already have one foot in Sheol. ★ Support this podcast ★
