African Enterprise did many mission trips to local schools in South Africa in the 60s and 70s, causing many young people to put their faith in Christ. Where is God calling YOU to share the good news? Who knows who might find God if you take the time to share His love.

Michael Cassidy spent a lot of his life knowing about Jesus, without ever committing to him fully. When he finally surrendered to Jesus completely, great things happened! Have you fully given your life to Jesus?

Even with his great success in ministry, Michael Cassidy knew that he was only a "weak vessel", and that God had achieved great things in spite of him, not because of him. What a humble outlook, which all Christians should have.

Jacob's named changed to Israel - because he was one who "wrestled with God". Isn't that what we should all do?

Jacob knew that God had been with him throughout his life. A father-daughter story today reminds us that the same is true for us.

God always has an answer to our prayers - whether it's yes, no, or wait! Jacob found it to be true - may you too.

Jacob has his family go through a time of cleansing. But we must remember Jesus' warning - that outer cleansing means little if we haven't been cleansed on the inside.

God the Father is with His children to the very end - not even death can separate them from Him, and He takes them by the hand to lead them home when their time comes.

How amazing to know that the God who holds creation in His hands, holds you and I in His arms.

Not only do we wait on the Lord, but he waits for us in the secret place, longing to bless us. Draw near to Him!

Some children wait excitedly for their father's arrival at home... others wait in fear. Children of God have the privilege of waiting for their loving Father in joyful expectation - for He loves them so.

Unlike our earthly fathers who need sleep, God "never slumbers"! Inspiration from Gavin Towsen's song "Father" this week.

Weeping by the river longing for the death of your enemies is a pointless way of life. Instead, actively "put to death the misdeeds of the body" and walk in holiness! That will do you, and the world, much better. 

As they wept in captivity, the Israelites began to long for the destruction of their enemies. How different from the way of Jesus who said "love you enemies and pray for those who persecute you". Are we praying for those we struggle with?

The Israelites considered Jerusalem to be their highest joy... but Jesus taught that location is secondary when it comes to worship. It is worship in spirit and truth that matters to God, regardless of where it happens.

Weeping in captivity, the Israelites in Psalm 137 refused to sing. But beaten, flogged and locked in a prison, Paul and Silas sang hymns of praise. Who do we resemble?

The Israelites in captivity wept for the way things were... but Paul forgot the past and pressed on to take hold of new life in Christ. Which will you do?

The Holy Spirit's power raised Jesus from the dead... and will raise believers to new life too. But more than that - the Spirit gives us new life in Christ now, while on earth.

How did Jesus endure such suffering on the cross? The Holy Spirit was his helper. This is the secret to enduring our suffering too.

Jesus' whole life was empowered by the Holy Spirit. Our can - and should - be too.

The Spirit was there when Jesus was baptised, and in our baptism too. If you haven't been baptised, consider it... if you have, remember that the Spirit has been with you ever since.
