What does the Bible teach us about Evangelion, how do we tell the story in a way that is true to Jesus?

It teaches us how to suffer with grace. It teaches us how to love selflessly. If you started down this road thinking that there would be no difficulties, you were misinformed. We must be willing to travel down this road. The servant is not above the Master.

Following Jesus as a disciple means we can learn from the first disciples. On their way to Jerusalem Jesus taught them about the importance of His mission, the cost of following Him and what relationship must have priority.

Where you are is the field where you’re sowing seed and reaping a harvest. If you’ve followed God to get where you are, this is where He needs you. He will bring the harvest he’s prepared to you. Your role is to allow him to prepare you and then be open to the Holy Spirit’s leading as you respond to those he sends.

In the context of the Passover Seder and Christian tradition, the "cup of restoration" or the fourth cup represents the promise of God's ultimate restoration and the fulfillment of His promises, which Jesus himself stated he would drink anew with his followers in the kingdom of God.

When Scripture talks about our need for redemption it basically has three things in mind. It’s redemption from sin, it’s redemption from death, and it’s redemption from the law.

The significance of the “Cup of Deliverance” for the Hebrews, meant that they were no longer under the yoke of Egyptian tyranny.  In the broader sense, the deliverance from bondage represents deliverance for all oppression – sin, selfishness, self-directed living, and worldliness.  God’s desire for His followers is to be free of these bondages.

The opening celebration of Passover incorporates four cups, which link the unfolding story of the exodus from Egypt. It is the calling of each and every child of God to be sanctified—set apart—to God. The First Cup of Passover, the Cup of Sanctification or Separation, reminds us of this crucial starting point of our salvation.

The story of Passover is a story of redemption; it is a story we are meant to personally contextualise. Looking at the ancient symbols of Passover is an opportunity to experience the story of Jesus’s death, resurrection, and the promise of his return in  light of the Hebrew Scriptures.

The Bible is for us to know who God is, to tell the true story of human history from God's perspective and to shape us as a people of God so we can live in God's ongoing story.

The writings that make up the Hebrew Bible or the Christian Old Testament are among the most influential writings in Western history. But where did the Old Testament come from and why should we care about anything that it has to say?

God knew all along that nothing we could ever do would restore us to what he had planned for us when he created us. We all have to come to the realisation that we are nothing without Him. We all need God’s grace.

The Hebrew day starts at nightfall, and continues throughout the night and following day, until the next night.

Jesus often pointed to the “beginning” (Genesis), the Law of Moses (first five books) and the prophets (Jeremiah through Malachi) to reveal God’s plan for mankind and clues to recognize the Savior. For the Jews of his time, understanding the Old Testament was key to discovering that Jesus is their promised Messiah.

The ever-deepening union of each Christian with God is not a magical or automatic process. While Christ has destroyed the powers of sin, death, and evil once and for all, this victory must be appropriated by each person in cooperation with the Holy Spirit.
