Remnant of Israel Shabbat Messages

Zac Williams talks about how God is bringing His body of believers together as one. He uses as an example a YouTube video, "spontaneous synchronization", which shows how five mechanical metronomes all attached firmly to one base which is allowed to move back and forth, will fairly quickly become synchronized in their motion. 

Philip Snell continues his series of messages on chesed (grace), and especially the need to avoid making our congregations low-chesed because of the problems that creates. In his message next week, Philip will talk about how to increase chesed in our congregations. 

Today Philip Snell resumes his series on science, the brain, and character development. Also delayed from last week is a testimony by our sister Gwen about her family and history. 

Today there is no usual message, instead is the second half of today's service, after the liturgy and Torah service. Zac Williams gives the Torah service message, Philip Snell leads a time of praise and testimony. 

Today, Philip Snell talks about the Hebrew words simcha (joy) and chesed (grace) along with their root words and meanings. He compares simcha to "fuel" and chesed to "glue". 

Joe George talks about the fear of The Lord, and how it relates to true morality vs. moral relativism. Joe shows that if there is no God, then there is no true or fixed morality and moral law is just whatever we say it is. Included is a funny story about the the relative rightness or wrongness of putting Nutella (a peanut-butter-like snack) on pasta. 

Philip Snell continues his series on joy. Today he talks about joy being the emotional fuel in our tanks that enables us to live our lives with some degree of happiness; and how face time with others is one of the major sources of joy. 

In his message today, Zac Williams starts from Genesis 18 (today's Torah portion) to talk about Abraham and Sarah's reaction to the three visitors, and how we should be ready in our lives today to do whatever it is that God calls us to do.

Covered today is the difference between the right and left halves of the brain and how they work together to give us our character and personality. 

Last week many Remnant of Israel congregants went to Kansas City to see the traveling museum exhibit from Auschwitz itself. Today, instead of a traditional message, elder Joe George and several congregants read from the Book of Lamentations, and give their thoughts on what they saw and how it affected them. 

In his message today from today's torah portion, Philip Snell talks about the mysterious Melchizedek and his interactions with Abram, and explains the concept of Christophany. 

Today, Joe George talks about Hanukkah In a message that complements the message that Zac Williams gave last week, especially regarding Psalm 82. Joe points out that Yeshua (Jesus) celebrated Hanukkah, and talks about what Yeshua did on Hanukkah from John 10:22. 

In this message, delayed from Nov. 27, 2021, Zac Williams talks about the origins of Hanukkah, and why we still celebrate it today. But this discussion is from an adult point of view, not the sanitized cheerful version usually given in grade school level Shabbat classes.

Zac Williams talks about times when we must wait until God gives us new information. He uses Noah as an example, pointing out that God only spoke to Noah three times. During the 100 years it took to build the ark, Noah had to carry on until he heard from God again.

In Remnant's first message since Rabbi John passed away last Sunday, messianic elder Zach Williams talks about the beatitudes (blessings) from The Sermon on the Mount (from Matthew 5:3-10), and shows how each one builds on the previous one, hopefully describing our progress as we walk daily with Yeshua. 

With the conclusion of the Fall Feasts, and with a long time to wait until the return of the Spring Feasts, messianic elder Philip Snell gives us a teaching on how to wait, and shows us that we still have a job to do.
