Remembering Ethan Podcast

In this episode, I speak with Mike Clement. Mike is a pianist in Phoenix, AZ, who is a friend of Ethans, and performed with him for some time.. He shares his thoughts and fond memories of their time together.

This week is the second half of my interview with Kathleen Newman. She shares more memories and answers some of my questions.

My guest this week is Kathleen Newman, Ethan's mom. In this first part of our conversation, she talks about some of Ethan's adventures, and shares stories of her time with him. Kathleen opens up a window to her relationship with her son, and helps us get to know him better.

In this week's episode I speak with Keirsten Newman, Ethan's wife. She shares memories and stories of her short time with Ethan, and gives us example of how they shared a decade's worth of love and happiness in a little over two years. We also learn how they met and fell in love.

This week I speak with Ethan's bandmates from Capital Down. They discuss their time with Ethan in the band and share some heartfelt memories of what he meant to them. They also tell some funny stories and talk about how the band started and ended.

In this week's episode I speak with Shannon Brown, a very dear friend of Ethan's. She shares her memories, thoughts, and stories about her time with him, and gives us a look into their friendship and what it meant to her and the trajectory of her life.

In this episode I speak with Ethan's former bandmate from the group TATE. Tod Miller, Allan Chadwick, and Tony King share memories and thoughts about their time in the band with Ethan, and recall many stories and situations that left a lasting impression by performing with and being Ethan's friends.

This week I speak with Jake Batsell, one of Ethan's childhood friends. He shares memories of their time together, and what it was like to be his friend in school and beyond.

In this episode I speak with the band Delcoa. They recall their time being in the band with Ethan, and share some intimate details about their time with him collectively. We discuss the origin of the band and how it affected their lives.

This week's guest is Matt Tener. Matt and Ethan performed together in an acoustic due and were friends for many years. Here he talks about Ethan's role in his musical journey and the unique act they put together back in the early 2000s.

This week's guest is Randy Cavanaugh. He's a guitarist and vocalist, and now lives in Ohio. Randy shares some memories of his time with Ethan, and talks with me about how Ethan influenced us and what it was like to perform with him.

This week's guest is Derric Butler, he is the drummer for The Azz Izz Band, in addition to many other projects. Derric shares his memories of meeting Ethan and performing with him during Ethan's early years in the Phoenix, AZ music scene. He also talks about watching Ethan develop and grow into a world class musician and great person.

Today's guest is Chris Reidy, a professor of percussion and gigging drummer in the Phoenix area. Chris performed with Ethan in several projects and got to know him well over the years of their friendship. He talks about how he met Ethan, and remembers his time with him fondly.

This week's episode features Bill Dutcher, a guitarist, songwriter and vocalist from Phoenix, AZ. Bill talks about how he met Ethan, the few times they performed together, and the lasting impression that Ethan made on his life.

This week I speak with Kurt Finchum, the trumpet player for the Azz Izz Band. He shares memories of meeting, performing with, and knowing with Ethan. He also talks about how Ethan wormed his way into the band by learning one of their albums and the lasting impression he made on his life.

In this bonus episode, Stefan Platamone shares some audio and video of Ethan from his personal archives. He put together a very special collection of early music recordings, texts, messages, and even some childhood skits that they put together and recorded. This episode is a truly beautiful one that will be a joy to listen to for anyone who knew and loved Ethan.
