Episode 377: Agatha Who? 26.02.2021 1:39:04
Its always a good time when Brian "I've got one of those" Mix drops by to catch up. This week Brian and the Regular hosts talk about props and prop replicas. Stuff they have, stuff they want, and the deep void in Dave's existence that stems from not owning a truly significant screen used prop. Prediction, this will not end well. They also cover the usual random topics, work in a round of Whats in...
Episode 376: Spaced 19.02.2021 1:11:10
Three years ago Jeff Bezos saved The Expanse from a premature death in the cold depths of space. As the fifth season (the second on Amazon Prime) wraps up the Regular Joes comment on this, in many ways, unique Sci Fi (no longer SyFi) show. The political thriller, action adventure, human drama, continues to deliver, while deviating slightly, from the novel series by James S. A. Corey ... which Tod...
Episode 375: You Look MARVELous 12.02.2021 1:03:42
This past weekend roughly 92 million people sat through a bizarre event, involving several millionaires beating up each other to control an oblong ball, just to get a look at the new trailer for Marvel's next Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Was it worth all that pain and suffering? Hell yes! After an interminable wait the MCU is back in all its shield throwing, Falcon flying, evi...
Episode 374: Marvel Orphans 05.02.2021 1:05:15
This week's episode has a theme ... if you look really closely. In its fourth week (of nine) the decidedly odd puzzle pieces of Disney+'s first Marvel series WandaVision are coming together. What these clues reveal is still very much an open question. The only thing certain at this point is the Regular Joes are hooked and will be speculating along with everyone else. Stay tuned. Over the last seve...
Episode 373 - Sci-Fi Fav's 29.01.2021 1:12:05
On this episode, the Regular Joes each discuss one of their favorite Science Fiction properties. Yeah, so you're thinking, how is that different from the previous 372 episodes right? Well, there was one rule...it couldn't be related to Star Trek or Star Wars in any way...so that added a level of complexity! What movies or shows did each host choose? Listen in to find out. Plus the usual helping of...
Episode 372: Weird Wanda 22.01.2021 1:06:29
Each year the Regular Joes gather to exchange gifts. And, like everything else in 2020, that did not quite happen as planned. Thus, nearly a month after the holiday, the Joes get together (safely distanced by several miles) and open presents they bought or made for each other. Yes, that is kinda odd. . .but it fits this week's theme. After several long months of eager anticipation Disney+ just lau...
Episode 371: Disco Season 3 - Burnam'd Out? 15.01.2021 1:11:06
Star Trek the Next Generation came into its own in it's third season. The Third season of original Star Trek gave us Turnabout Intruder and Spock's Brain. As Star Trek Discovery wraps up its third season the regular Regular Joes, plus adjunct Joe Brian Mix, assess how the series fared. What worked, what didn't? Did it serve it characters well? As this was the third major redirection in three years...
Episode 370: Dumpster Fire 08.01.2021 1:16:45

Next it's a round of Show and Tell, where the hosts share a few of their favorite Christmas gifts. The week between Christmas and New Year's is prime binge time and the Joes took good advantage of the opportunity. Find out which shows finished up their 2020 watch lists. With t...

Episode 367: Filoni & Favreau Save the Universe 25.12.2020 1:34:07
Don't get us wrong, season one of the Mandalorian was good ... ok very good. But, by any objective standard season two was mind blowing. If you have not yet watched the season finale, you will want to go do that now. Really. There will be SPOILERS ... lots and lots of SPOILERS. The regular hosts are once again joined by Derryl DePriest and Brian Mix as they process what they just saw. And, even th...
Episode 366: We Have Seen the Future and it is . . . Disney 18.12.2020 1:13:19
If you are a Star Wars fan, or a Marvel fan, or a fan of anything else that comes from the entertainment juggernaut that is Disney last week Christmas came early. Disney's investors Day 2020 detailed, more or less, plans for dozens of Disney + TV series, including at least 10 Marvel and 10 Star Wars offerings, coming in the next three years. Oh, and films, you want films, Marvel, Star Wars, Indian...
Episode 365: The Bantha in The Room 11.12.2020 58:52
For those of you who never expected to see the words "Star Wars" and "Holiday Special" used together again in any authorized way, Disney+ offers up an animated Lego revisitation of the Life Day holiday celebration. Does it improve upon the original? That's kind of a low bar. Without question, it's the best Star Wars Holiday Special constructed of Legos we have seen … so far. Ok, so just in case yo...
Episode 364: Going, Going ... Grogu? 04.12.2020 1:06:23
This week the Prop Store held another auction of rare and one of a kind items from film and television. While it is true most of us can't afford to swim among the big fish who will gobble up these goodies it's also fun to play the home game, and peruse the catalog for the props we would most want. This most recent auction offers up quite a selection and the Regular Joes have whittled down their li...

As alway...
Episode 362: The Wizard of Odd 20.11.2020 1:08:50
It doesn't take much effort to rewatch a film like Goldfinger. It shows no commitment to cue up The Rock. What takes true dedication is committing 102 extremely long minutes to a film that you know Is going to be excruciatingly bad. This week the Regular Joes pay tribute to the late Sean Connery by watching the the 1974 John Boorman sci-fi/Fantasy film Zardoz for the latest installment of Disaster...
Episode 361: Prop Dreams 13.11.2020 56:32
The Regular Joes love props. The allure, realistic or otherwise, of owning a tangible piece of movie or television history is undeniable. This week the Joes check out The Stuff Dreams are Made Of, reputedly the first podcast dedicated to collecting screen used props, created by Hollywood writers David Mandel and Ryan Condal. While many of us dream of laying hands on some of the big screen's holy g...
Episode 360: Loot Krayt 06.11.2020 1:24:01
The Mandalorian, Disney+'s flagship streaming Star Wars property, is back for a second season and it's off with a bang. The episode puts to rest decades of speculation about a fan favorite character and digs into Star Wars mythos like a huge sand burrowing creature. The Joes liked it so much they watched it twice and invite you rewatch and follow along as they offer live commentary. But first, the...
Episode 359: Space Programs 30.10.2020 1:20:26
Astronauts have been the subject of TV shows going back to the space program's origin. Many series have tried but few have captured and sustained audience interest. On the heels of Apple's alternate history Apollo saga For All Mankind Disney+ takes a second pass at adapting Tom Wolfe's The Right Stuff. Will this narrative of the formative years and indomitable men of NASA's Mercury Program resonat...
Episode 358: Disco Fever 23.10.2020 1:16:32
In this time when folks are divided on all sorts of issues it's good to know there are still some things that everybody can agree on, like Star Trek. Or not. This week the regular Regular Joes add Brian Mix to the ... er, mix, to take a first pass at the 3rd season premiere of Star Trek Discovery. Easily the most controversial of the Trek offerings, Discovery returns after having jumped nearly a t...

And now the wait begins for season three in 2021. Warning if you don't know, for exampl...
Episode 356: The Great Gig in the Sky 09.10.2020 1:06:54
Surprising as this may be, we usually do have a plan for each episode. Nevertheless, every so often the events of the day take precedent. This week, all to suddenly, and far too soon, we learned of the passing of Eddie Van Halen, which made most other things seem trivial. As we all await The Mandalorian's return we take a few minutes to discuss a pair of recent videos that look at what went into c...
Episode 355: TV Guides 02.10.2020 1:04:52
It's pretty clear the fall TV season is not. And it seems this is just one more aspect of the new normal. Kind of like kids going to school in their living rooms, protests in the streets, and presidential debates that look like an episode of Jerry Springer. If all of this makes you long for a simpler time you are not alone. This week the Regular Joes set the Wayback Machine to September 1973 and t...
Episode 354: Three Joes, Three Shows 25.09.2020 1:08:55
This week the Regular Joes each sample one of the recent, noticeably sparse, Fall TV offerings and give their recommendations to you and each other. First up Barry drinks the Kool Aid with HBO's The Vow, a nine part documentary series that looks into the NXIVM cult that drew in many including several familiar actors. Next Dave heads to Mars with Hilary Swank in the Netflix series Away. If there's...
Episode 353: Random Robot Ruminations 18.09.2020 1:28:15
We like Robots. Frankly, who doesn't. Robots have been a persistent presence in pop culture since Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927). What is the allure of these mechanical/artificial men, and women? Why do we so easily identify with these characters who often have more in common with a home appliance than the human race? What makes a good robot good and a bad robot terrifying? To answer these questio...
