In our reading from Revelation 21, we hear God make a resolution that only he can keep. In verse 5, God says, “I am making everything new.” This refers to the new day. On that day, God will do away with death, mourning, crying, and pain. On that day, there will be a new heaven, new earth, New Jerusalem, and God will dwell with us in a new way. Talk about adventure and hope.

Where do you turn when things are falling apart? God, says, “Return to me.” Return to me in the confession and hear my absolution. Return to me by reading my Word. It is filled with promises for you. Return to me in prayer. There is no concern to big for me to hear. Return to me by coming forward and receiving Christ in the Lord’s Supper. It is for you. Return to me!
