This Christmas season, we get the privilege of focusing on the person and work of Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest, and King.

Hebrews 4:14-16; 6:13-20; 10:11-14   Sermon Notes: Our Great High Priest provides all we need to be faithful. Our Great High Priest promises eternal access to God’s presence. Our Great High Priest made purification for our sins. Main Idea – The whole Christian life is dependent on the priestly work of Jesus. 

This Christmas season, we get the privilege of focusing on the person and work of Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest, and King. Christ’s prophetic ministry has been anticipated since the start of the Old Testament and is so important to us because without it, we would never know the true God.

Genesis 22:1-19   Sermon Notes: God is worthy of our worship even when his plans don’t make sense. God expects obedience even when faith is tested. God expects obedience even in the midst of suffering.

1 Corinthians 7:1-7   Sermon Notes: Sex protects your marriage from sexual sin. Sex is a duty you fulfill to your spouse through self-giving and self-sacrifice. Failure to fulfill your duty is sin. Main Idea: Sex is not about you; it must always be self-giving and never self-seeking.

1 Corinthians 6:12-20   Sermon Notes: Our bodies are for the Lord in the present and the future. Sexual sin profanes our union with Christ. Our bodies were bought for a higher purpose. Main Idea: Our bodies are for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 6:1-11   Sermon Notes: When we ignore our Christian identity, we discredit the gospel. It is better to suffer mistreatment than to damage our witness by getting even. Be who you are, not who you were.

1 Corinthians 1:18-31   Sermon Notes: The folly of the cross has divided humanity. The folly of the cross was the only way to bring us to God. The folly of the cross crushes human pride.

Micah 4:11-5:15   Sermon Notes: God has promised a better kingdom and a greater king. The King’s presence is peace to his people. The King’s presence gives purpose to his people. The King’s presence purifies his people.  

Micah 4:1-10   Sermon Notes: Our lives should be a snapshot of Christ’s future kingdom. The Lord is preserving his people until this kingdom is established. Don’t wait for the Lord’s judgement to embrace his mercy. Jesus bore the judgement of God on the cross, so you and I could find mercy at the cross.
