David is facing down an imposing figure who is armed to the teeth, and yet, "there was no sword in David's hand." Why? Every military strategist, ancient or modern, would see this as a colossal blunder on David's part. So why is there no sword in the hand of David?

If you know anything at all about David, you know that David was "a man after God's own heart." But what you may not know is that the phrase "a man after God's own heart" says nothing at all about David's character and integrity and everything about God's sovereign will and purposes.
