Reboot Already Underway

Aaron reveals The Prestige to Jacob, who's not surprised that Christopher Nolan once again conjures up great movie magic, regardless of others' critiques.

This week, the guys exalt more moments that gave them goosebumps. Or, more accurately, "giggle-bumps," as they upraise non-scary instances this time. Also, David hopes the guys don't spy a Kingsman lie, and Aaron didn't strike-out with FilmStruck, while Jacob covers the podcast's legal bases.

It's a Science Fiction/Double Feature as Aaron unveils the cinematic monster that is The Rocky Horror Picture Show to Jacob, but, Dammit Janet, he finds it to be quite the rocky, horrible picture show.

The guys serve up fictional foods that they would love to try, but their appetites quickly turn to addiction. Also, Aaron carves up a truth vs. lie for Freddy vs. Jason, Jacob bemoans the benighted Bedeviled, and David takes the podcast to couple's counseling.

On Halloween, Aaron and Jacob seek Trick 'r Trick. They both find something good to eat in this holiday horror anthology, but their real debate is neither trick nor treat, but Trolley Problem Part 2.

To his horror, Jacob discovers his co-hosts have become host to an alien opinion about Venom's quality. Also, the three get their skates on to see Mid90s, Jacob now knows his ABCs... of Death, and Aaron has a specific reservation about Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

The guys put on their Hollywood producer suits to pitch biopics they think should be made, and like actual Hollywood producers, their pitches involve a Mulholland Drive-length of cocaine. Also, Aaron thinks Manifest and the rest of the 2018 pilot season failed to take off, David bites at what Venom is offering, and Jacob's not into strip-Monopoly but is into Jennifer's Body.

This week, Jacob and Aaron take another stab at the Scream franchise, and find the cast and crew didn't phone in this arguably superior slasher sequel.

After returning from summer camp, Aaron returns to a cabin in the woods as he and Jacob crack open the book on Evil Dead 2. The two are disappointed to find the layout is just how they left it, except for a low milk supply. Also, the easily sidetracked duo once again overstays their welcome to talk Jurassic World 5 and belt buckles. More like "Done by Dawn," amirite?

Say hello again to the Bye-Bye Man's biggest fan, as Aaron returns from summer camp solitude with a long list of what he's been watching. Replace the list with Matthew Broderick and you may have something here. David's latched onto the idea that Venom could be good, and Jacob's isn't willing to wave the flag for Assassination Nation.

This week David and Jacob are joined by Shakira while discussing the movies that, in the moment, felt the most surreal. Also, Shakira brings the hot takes on the Mamma Mia franchise and its continuity, David can't escape his confusion over The Room, and Jacob is still flying high on Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

Jacob and Aaron reignite the metaphorical flamethrower that is their podcast to discuss The Thing. "The thing" being 80s practical effects, toxic masculinity, and It. "It" being the 2017 clown-demon movie. And "Jacob and Aaron" being their usual easily sidetracked selves. Or perhaps they're not their selves at all, but... The Thing!

This week the guys are joined by Jacob's sister, Marissa Lacy to discuss their favorite friendships in media. While Jacob takes the main topic in a different direction than originally intended, Marissa talks her favorite television shows, and David joins the podcast from the L-shaped state.
