Here's a little ditty that just came out of my noggin.

It's a green Sunday. Greeeeeen.

The lyrics of the first part of this song came from a dream, so as usually, I cobbled it together in a way that would make it maybe make sense. 

Damn, I'm running into tech issues; this thing is not publishing. I'll try again; this is Gloomy Gus Song #12; it's a song about how he has a tendency to drink himself into oblivion. 

The repeating part of this song came from a dream this morning, where 2 girls came to me, alarmed about some music they were listening to. It was instrumental, but there were overtones or something that made it sound like there was a human voice singing. It sounded like my voice, but turned around backwards. And it was singing "I don't know what happened to me." It was eerie, so I made a song abou...

This is a song about why Gloomy Gus likes to drink whiskey.

Y'know how, in late summer, the sunlight is all goldy-orange later in the day? That's always been a depressing shade of sunlight for me. It reminds me of being bored as a kid, at my brother's soccer practice at the end of summer, knowing my days of freedom were numbered because school would be starting soon.

Gloomy Gus went over into some country music sensibilities. Oldy, oldy, moldy, old time country music. But with other sensibilities, too. 

This song came out of the blue, and I realized it could mean two things: "I miss midnight" sounds identical to "I'm Miss Midnight." It's a little double entendre magic fun.

I'm doing my birthday song a day early cuz I might be out and about tomorrow, and stuff. Here it is. Old. Old, old, old. It's kind of a crappy song.

This is song 9 in the Gloomy Gus series, a song about what it's like to grow up to be a pencil-pusher, instead of doing God's work, as he had originally intended way back in the day.

Gloomy Gus continues to ponder the music he heard coming to him last night, as it fades from his memory and he gets ready for work.

It's morning, and the memory of the music that came to Gloomy Gus in the night is fading fast. What was it, now? What was it that woke him up in the middle of the night. Crikey! His short term memory ain't what it used to be.

When people say, "Thank God this year is over - it's ring in the new year," I feel like they're tempting fate...like, remember when people were all, "Thank God 2019 is over - yay, 2020"? Then there was Covid. Let's not tempt fate this time around.

I recorded this song on Christmas, and as of last night didn't really think it went with the rest o' them; but it fits nicely, nestled between song 4 and song 5. The song 6 one I'm a little ambivalent about; either I'll figure out how to use pitch correction or have another go at it. 

Here's a li'l restatement of that new theme in the last Gloomy Gus song. Actually, if you follow this, I did an initial version of a song with this melody a while back but didn't know what it was supposed to be about, and stuff. This song seems to belong here in this here album. Yeah, man. Yeah. Although I kinda like the old version of it, too.

I wanted to do a 4th Christmas song this year, so that I'd have 4 Christmas songs. Then it makes a nice, well-rounded, square-shaped Christmas song cycle. Enjoy!

Here's Christmas Song #3, I guess you could call it. Number 3. A song about how Christmas is sort of kind of a celebration of Jesus's birthday, but not on His actual birthday.

I don't think I've ever been to a Midnight Mass before, but here's a song for one.

Just a quick little ditty to get everyone into the holiday spirits. Well, maybe not.

Poor Gloomy Gus; he sure is gloomy. He's thinking about what his epitaph will eventually say, but he can't come up with any ideas. (This is the 4th song in the Gloomy  Gus and the Forest That's About to Die album).

This is song #3 in the Gloomy Gus album. I wasn't expecting to record a song today, but I was washing dishes, and this song came to me. This is the second song in the album with the working title, "Gloomy Gus and the Forest That's About to Die." Gloomy Gus is busy being all sad and gloomy, when he hears music coming out of (seemingly) nowhere. What is this?????????
