Part 6 - Wait for His Return 19.05.2024
Jesus left us with a mission, we call it the Great Commission and it’s what Jesus expects us to be doing while we’re waiting for His return. We’re not to put our feet up cause we’re good with God, we’re to roll our sleeves up cause lots of people aren’t. He didn’t give us The Gospel so we would be saved but so every person possible might be.
Part 5b- Daily Surrender Part 2 12.05.2024
Understanding what The Gospel is not only helps us share it, but also helps us adjust our lives to actually follow it. The Gospel does not ask us to make some mental acknowledgment to who Jesus is, it requires our allegiance. Faith, lived out daily as we repent, believe and follow the King.
Part 5a - Daily Surrender part 1 05.05.2024
We’ve been talking about The Gospel in bits and parts over the previous 4 weeks. This Sunday we lay it out, what it is, where we get it and how Jesus said we’re to respond to it. Next Sunday we’ll look at what it means for us personally and then we’ll wrap up the series with what it means for us publicly.
Part 4 - Real Life 28.04.2024
...where we can live our real lives through the Holy Spirit’s power
Part 3 - Invite to Relationship 21.04.2024
Jesus died and rose again to make a way for us to once again experience a relationship with God the Father like we had in the garden - in the beginning. Everything God has done, even through Noah and the flood, has been to move us back into relationship with Himself. Jesus is the Key to that relationship.
Part 2 - Our Defender 14.04.2024
...died in our place and rose as our defender. Jesus didn’t die to save us just to come back and slay us. He is not just our Savior, He’s our defender., our advocate. He’s the King who died and rose again so that HIs Kingdom will never end and a King whose Kingdom never ends will always be there to fight for those who are His.
Part 1 - Jesus the King 07.04.2024
What is The Gospel and how does it help to shape our understanding of who Jesus is, who we are and what we're supposed to do about? As we kick off this new series we begin with the most important piece of information - Jesus is the King.
Part 5 - Conviction 31.03.2024
After Jesus' death His followers gave up. If the one you believe to be the Messiah dies what's the point of continuing? Either you were duped or you're just dumb, neither of those was appealing. Then Jesus appears to two of them on the road to Emmaus and their questions quickly turn into conviction.
Part 4 - Suffering 24.03.2024
This Sunday we'll be looking at what is called The Way of Suffering, or the Via Dolorosa. It's the path Jesus took with the cross to His crucifixion and it will show us not just how much cared and endured, but how we are to carry our own burdens.
Part 3 - Uncertainty 17.03.2024
We're gonna back up a few hours this week and take a look at the events that happened during the Passover meal Jesus shared with His disciples before they went out to the olive press to pray. This meal and time was filled with uncertainty for the disciples but it gives us hope that even in our times of uncertainty we have be certain God is with us.
Part 1 - Jerusalem 03.03.2024
Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem while the crowd throws their cloaks and palm branches on the road and shouts "King!" but 4 days later their shouts become "crucify!" and this King they welcomed they will kill.
4 - Prepared for the Promise 25.02.2024
The story of Ruth starts out focused on Naomi who feels abandoned by God because of her own rebellious behavior. The story ends with God making a way to write her back into the story and redeem her while proving Himself faithful to Ruth and Boaz. It's a beautiful picture that reminds us there is more to love than we think.
3 - Risky Business 18.02.2024
While chapter 3 starts out with a Naomi trying to trick Boaz into marrying Ruth, Boaz (and God) have another plan. Unlike Naomi, Boaz trusts the story God is writing for him and we'll see if it pays off in chapter 4.
Part 2 - Experience vs Expectation 11.02.2024
Ruth is busy trying to figure out how to survive as a stranger in Israel. But while she's struggling God is writing a pretty amazing story, but Ruth has to be wiling to give up what's present for what's promised. Not as easy as it sounds. Ruth 2
Part 1 - Failing Forward 04.02.2024
To the Jewish reader the book of Ruth is an iconic love story, like Romeo and Juliet without all the suicide. But the book of Ruth is full of struggle, loss, spicy relationship stuff and most importantly a narrative of self-sacrifice.
Part 4 - Sharing 28.01.2024
Judas was one of the disciples who saw all the miracles and was part of every teaching moment of Jesus. But unlike the others He was not moved by Jesus' ministry, he was motivated by money.
Part 3 - Being 21.01.2024
Being a part of Jesus' Kingdom means more than serving Jesus, it means serving others like you serve Jesus. Being a part of the Kingdom means being a participant in the Kingdom. You can't serve the King and not serve in the Kingdom.
Part 2 - Serving 14.01.2024
Jesus didn't "say" a whole lot to His disciples about serving one another. "They" would have a LOT to say about it in their later writings, but Jesus didn't say much. Instead, He modeled it. Serving the physical, emotional, spiritual and felt needs of the people He came in contact with. It wasn't until the night He was to be betrayed, when He washed the feet of Judas that He gave them the command,...
Part 1 - Giving 07.01.2024
In this message pastor Corey will be sharing some highlights from 2023, our 2024 budget, some thoughts on giving and an opportunity to take the 3 month tithe challenge.
Part 4 - Born into Suffering 24.12.2023
Jesus, this King, wasn't born into splendor, He was born into suffering. A suffering world, nation, family and situation. Just like today. And just like back then, this baby born king still brings hope, our suffering isn't for nothing, it helps us look more like Jesus every day.
Part 3 - Born Into Struggle 17.12.2023
The story of Mary should encourage us all in our walk with God. So often we focus on our failures instead of our faith. So we miss that God isn't looking for perfect people, He's got the perfect part figured out, He's looking for partners. People who will walk through life with Him even when it doesn't make sense - and the story God wrote for Mary and for humanity, didn't make sense.
Part 2 - Welcomed the Shunned 10.12.2023
In this message we're going to compare the story of the shepherds with that of the wise men, they are strikingly similar! What we'll see is that Jesus welcomed the shunned at His birth and continued throughout His life. Luke 2:8-20
part 1 - Worshiped by Strangers 03.12.2023
The wisemen had been on the move for nearly 2 years because of a star the people of God had missed. 2 years after the birth of Messiah and God's people knew the where and the what but they completely missed the when and the why. If you won't move you will miss. The wisemen were willing to move so they didn't miss the birth of the promised King. Are we willing to move or are we willing to miss?
Part 3 - The God Who Hears 26.11.2023
We thank God way more for doing the things we want Him to, than for the things He wants to. And even in those moments He is still willing to give up His life in order to bring life to us. This final message in The Power of Thanksgiving reveals just how big of a deal it is that God hears our prayers, even if He doesn't answer them the way we want Him to.
