I listened to a lot of Tower of Power in my teenage years - I'm not really sure why - but they had a song entitled "What Is Hip?", which shared the wisdom that "sometimes hipness is, what it ain't".  Anyway, that's clearly a deeply uncool sentence in 2021. Does that matter? Quick! To the ranking factory!
