A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge - Live At Pride - Two Drink Cinema 10.10.2024

Recorded live at our Halloween screening event at Pride Of Our Footscray! Nightmare 2 is widely considered the gayest slasher film of all time. Hear us dissect why that is and whether it's homoerotic or in fact homophobic. We've got theories, some are wild, some are a stretch, some are irrelevant. Our next Live Screening is Can't Stop The Music - 3rd November. Tickets on sale now. Mentioned in thi...

Hairspray (1988) - Live At Pride of our Footscray - Two Drink Cinema 12.09.2024

Our first live event at Pride of our Footscray and we watched and reviewed the camp classic Hairspray from 1988. The original John Waters version is not as family-friendly as Lee's favourite, the 2007 musical version, but the night was plenty of fun for everyone. Our next live event is October 3rd at Pride, screening Nightmare on Elm Street 2. Sorry about the sound issues late in the episode too....

Bros (2022) - Rainbow Popcorn Review 08.08.2024

Bros starts our month of frustrating RomComs. Apparently the first major studio queer romantic comedy, and Love, Simon doesn't exist? If you like our Rainbow Popcorn reviews we're going LIVE next month at Pride of our Footscray. Follow us on the socials @twooutofthreebrothers for more info and ticket links. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok @rainbowpopcornpod Live events are back for 202...

Holding The Man (2015) - Rainbow Popcorn Movie Review - Two Drink Cinema 25.07.2024

A movie with the potential to become an Aussie queer classic. Based on Tim Conigrave's memoir, via a stage play. It's not in here for it's comedic efforts but it's better we watch it in private rather than Lee crying in public when we start our live events at Pride of our Footscray . Join our Facebook group to connect with us and join the discussion with other movie lovers. Want to see who you're...

Red, White & Royal Blue - Rainbow Popcorn Movie Review - Two Drink Cinema 27.06.2024

The most tropey of the queer flicks we've reviewed so far. But it has it's positives. For Lee one of those positives is the tropes. Join our Facebook group to connect with us and join the discussion with other movie lovers. If you'd like to show your support to the two brothers, you can do so here . Single All The Way (2021) 18.12.2022

Cliche holiday crap, but in a bad way. We're sorry that we only did one holiday movie this year. We're extra sorry that it's this. That's it for 2022. We'd love some feedback on 2023. Here's the survey . Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok @rainbowpopcornpod Check us out on YouTube . Want to read more? Boys Don't Cry (1999) 04.12.2022

Hilary Swank's first Oscar-winning performance in what is likely the most mainstream and well-known film that centres on a trans character. While it did a lot of great things, the film isn't without it's flaws. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok @rainbowpopcornpod Want to read more? Pride (2014) 20.11.2022

The second of our 'based on true events' movie reviews. While there's a fair bit of artistic licence taken with this one, it easily surpasses Stonewall. Disclosure (2020) 13.11.2022

You may have expected Pride this week but for Trans Awareness Week we decided we'd bring forward our review of Netflix's 2020 doco on trans representation in the media. It's a deep discussion in parts, of a documentary that is pretty well regarded. Apologies for the sound quality in the first section. Even after so many episodes of all the pods, Lee's obviously still got some learning to do. Follo...

The Birdcage (1996) 06.11.2022

Some very serious discussion about a hilarious movie. Robin Williams and Nathan Lane are at their peak in this one, and there's that guy who plays their son too... Stonewall (2015) 30.10.2022

In researching Stonewall for the podcast, Lee found one his all-time favourite articles - "Director of worst gay film ever gets hitched." The idea was to start the podcast with the start of the larger part of the gay rights movement. We apologise that it's such a terrible movie. But our episode is great. One of Roland Emmerich's trademark natural disasters should've washed these reels of film away...
