Regional Council Chair Pamela Storey is in studio with news of a 4.1 million dollar surplus - which the council wants your help in deciding to spend. We also talk about changes to the public transport funding, in the annual spending plan, coastal inundation near Miranda and whether Pamela is running for election again this year.

Lisa Thomson joins us in the studio to talk about how Council has tried to balance the changes that government has thrust upon them - including changes to roading funding. There's also the big changes to the 3-waters set up and lots more in the 700 page document.

Lisa has bought a 700 page copy of the council's Long Term Plan with her to the studio following the decision by councillor's to formally accept the plan and the accompanying rate rise.

We don't know. But there's a council meeting happening at the time of recording which is will set council costs for the next few years. This leads John and Aaron to speculate about the potential results to no great effect. We also look at the latest sewerage scare - which is probably just a scare - and then wrap it up fairly quickly so we can talk about history.
