Eskom has confirmed it will be paying multi-million-rand bonuses to current and former senior managers including axed CEO Brian Molefe. Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says they are paying the bonuses because people have met and exceeded their performances. Eskom earlier denied it was in financial dire straits and that it would be unable to pay salaries from November.

The search for eight missing fishermen off Cape St Francis in the Eastern Cape has resumed this morning. The fisherman went missing yesterday after their chokka vessel capsized.
