Remember that there’s only so much that you can accomplish in the day. You might want to be able to do a lot more, however you only can possibly do what you can do.

Look at what you’re afraid of, and try to figure out why you’re afraid of those things. If there is a basis for being afraid based on real statistical numbers, then it makes sense that you should be afraid of it. However if it’s simply based on what other people have said or done, you should question it.

Remember to be consistent and repetitive with what you’re doing. It’s important to continue to be consistent every single day in order to get performance gains with anything that you’re working on.

Don’t give up on yourself. Remember to ignore everything else that’s going on around you and keep pushing forward. There’s nothing that you can do other than just keep working. That you is the only thing that you have in your control.

There’s no secret to gaining impact other than being friendly and helpful over a long period of time. Don’t worry about the impact worry about being nice.

We need to remember how tippy the world actually is. There is a tremendous amount of structure and path dependency with most things in our lives. You have to look back and be appreciative of the positive things that happened to you because it could easily go one way or the other.

The world has unlimited number of implicit biases against you. You have to realize that you just got to get up and get going and not worry about those biases. They do hold you back, however your goal is to simply just kick butt despite those biases.

I talk about what you should expect with new product development and a new start up. Expect that it’s going to be a long slow grind and there’s not gonna be much going on. It’s gonna take a heck of a lot longer than you think it’s going to take.
