Academic Research Is Dead. Robots Won. 07.12.2022 11:30
The implications of #chatgpt on the economy, particularly in knowledge economy—academic #research— is dumbfounding. I’m somewhat dumbfounded by this technology, and really cannot create coherent thoughts about where it is going to take the academic research career and the rest of the knowledge economy. i can seem that it will single-handedly change the #economy, but I don’t know it won’t feel bein...

Negativities for creators works, but how do we deal with that? 04.12.2022 6:25
negativity, and the negation of current understanding works. It often gets more attraction and views, then providing positive and healthy information. The problem is how do we deal with that? If one is a creator, we have to provide negative information to get views, but then it is an unhealthy narrative to keep selling. The challenge that we face is how do we balance getting growth on social platf...

when we strive to make a large impact, we often get paralyzed, or we think that we’re not doing anything. Instead, I would encourage you to think about how you can make the smallest impact possible when you think about the small little we impact somebody’s day that’s when you actually make a difference and you’ll be OK with living your own life.
Just Take Another Step 02.12.2022 0:21

Enough with the instrumentalism in science 02.12.2022 11:09
Instrumental ism in science occurs when we talk about how to get things done and be as successful as possible. The trouble is is that this incentivizes, the wrong things and incentivizes people to do shallow science.
Academia is just not working 01.12.2022 11:40
Academia is not functioning as well as it should. I provide suggestions and how to change, academia and improve how it is currently managed. The key problem is the belief that we can measure the worth of individuals. It’s easy to measure things that are easy to measure. However, the things that actually matter in our life, and that improve performance cannot be measured.
Academic life is not much different than real life 30.11.2022 4:37
I use the context of academia and PhD in life to explain very real concepts in everybody’s life. I hope that you will resonate with what I’m saying and understand that much of what I’m talking about is not about academic life. It’s about how to live a fulfilled life when there’s pressures from an immediate world.
Advertising models are changing with the new digital environment 30.11.2022 7:54
#Advertising models are changing with the new #digital environment Most people don’t understand this, but advertising models are dramatically changing with the advent of digital environments. We think of advertising in the traditional sense of getting people to buy something. However, in the digital environment, it’s more about building #community and getting people to buy in with what you’re actu...
Why Anti-Woke Does Not Work For Business 30.11.2022 6:13
Honestly, I don’t understand the anti-#woke movement. it just does not make sense to me. Not only are you creating considerable amount of tension and anxiety, but it’s frankly bad for #business. Being #empathetic, kind and #inclusive is actually good for business. If you look at across the board most of the research in these areas, emphasizing positive traits, almost always correlates with the per...

We project the uncertainty we face in academia 29.11.2022 8:29
All of us project the uncertainty we face in different ways. Doing the #academic game is very uncertain, and we learn how to process that information. Some of us learn to #internalize this uncertainty, and become more doubtful and #insecure. (This is me) However, some of us learn that we can try to control the environment and become more #anxious. These people tend to be viewed as very #controllin...
We need to be thinking about pursuing novelty in a different way 28.11.2022 9:46
We need to reassess how we think about managing #research and #innovation in completely different ways that we do right now. We need to start thinking about how to manage #research and innovation in a far more and #learning oriented manner. How we currently pursue funding of research and innovation projects is based on stage-gates. We simply cut off the resources when somebody, some project, or #p...
It’s the technology silly. Not you. 28.11.2022 8:05
It is not necessarily you that is driving processes in your #environment. you might think that everything is in your control, but it’s hardly the case. When you create anything, from a new written document, to a new innovation, you often have to think about what are the forces outside of your #control that are driving what is happening. Consequently, the experiences that you’re having might be pre...
Learn to detach to figure out how to keep going 26.11.2022 8:24
As a #professor and in most #careers, you have to learn to detach to figure out how to keep going. Realize that the ups and downs do not matter. Whether somebody recognizes what you’re doing or doesn’t has a little consequence on who you are as a person. Your goal is to learn how to detach so you can keep taking steps forward regardless of the #progress that you’re actually making. I think we inco...
Why do people quit when things take a long time to mature 23.11.2022 7:00
The challenge with most things in life is #waiting to realize outcomes from the actions that you perform today. Almost all of us finds this difficult, and we go in different directions when we don’t experience with outcomes more immediately. Some of us get #anxious and start being mean to others and ourselves, some of us quit and give up, some of us turn to substances to take the edge off, and som...

On the culture of anti-education and income 22.11.2022 12:09
In general, there is a relationship between #education and the amount of #income that you will bring in. However, there is plenty of nuance at the individual level between your education and income. Many people become highly successful without an education, and many people do poorly with an education. For you as an individual, getting an education might not matter, however what you have to think a...
Becoming an academic expert has made me less secure in who I am, rather than more secure 21.11.2022 11:56
Becoming an academic expert has made me less secure in who I am as a person. It’s an interesting result given what you’d expect in building #competence. One would expect that as you repeat an action, you should become more secure with the actions that you repeat. However, in #academic research, I’ve become completely insecure. I do not understand both the field of study (#learning), and how to act...
You can’t trust the process, because there’s no process 21.11.2022 7:30
when you do something for the first time, like get a PhD, or any other difficult project, you can’t trust the process. There is no process for you because this is the first time you’ve ever done it. Moreover this process is completely different for everybody. Your goal is to keep trying no matter what is happening to you. Once you’re in the grind, and you keep trying, then you will make it happen.
