Artificial intelligence has quickly become centerstage, and it may be wise to think about the implications of where we want to take this in the future. Instrumental ism in science occurs when we talk about how to get things done and be as successful as possible. The trouble is is that this incentivizes, the wrong things and incentivizes people to do shallow science.

Academia is not functioning as well as it should. I provide suggestions and how to change, academia and improve how it is currently managed. The key problem is the belief that we can measure the worth of individuals. It’s easy to measure things that are easy to measure. However, the things that actually matter in our life, and that improve performance cannot be measured.

I use the context of academia and PhD in life to explain very real concepts in everybody’s life. I hope that you will resonate with what I’m saying and understand that much of what I’m talking about is not about academic life.
