Governor Cuomo legalized marijuana in the beginning of 2021 and he introduced his new plan called The Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (CRTA). He had said earlier that it will bring "justice for long-marginalized communities."

Some newer sets of laws in Georgia are under scrutiny for being considered similar to the Jim crow laws. Voters feelings will be mixed: it contains new restrictions on absentee voting, while at the same time expanding early voting opportunities.
