This series of sermons is designed to help you discover your Spiritual gifts.

We are preparing, as a church, to take a Spiritual gift survey.  But before taking the survey, we want to make sure everyone understands what the Spiritual gifts are.  We are studying the gifts out of the lists in 1 Corinthians, Romans, Ephesians, and 1st Peter.

Every Christian has a spiritual gift from God.  So they need to discover what it is, and put it to work.

I preached this message out of the book of Galatians describing how Paul held firm to the truth of the gospel, despite opposition.

This is the final message comparing the stories of Joseph and Jesus.  Joseph is a foreshadowing of Christ in the salvation he offered and his inheritance.

This message is designed to give you "Just the Word" on homosexuality.  In other words, it is primarily a reading of Scripture on a topic, without a lot of comment.

The epistle of James addresses the issue of favoritism: treating people differently based on superficialities.

We have many decisions we have to make in our lives.  But, how do we know what God would have us do?  How can we know that we are hearing from Him?

In this episode of Firm Foundations we continue looking at the life of Joseph as a foreshadowing of the coming of Jesus.  And here we consider the salvation from starvation offered by Joseph, and the salvation from sin offered by our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are a number of parallels between the life of Joseph and that of Jesus.  This week we look at the ascension of them both.

The story of Joseph in Genesis is a wonderful foreshadowing of the life of Christ.  Both were preferred by their Fathers, both were hated by their brothers, both were falsely accused, both were tempted without giving in to temptation, both were exalted to the throne.

The story of Joseph in the book of Genesis is the best foreshadowing of Christ in all of Scripture.

Jacob learns trust.

Jacob had to learn how to put his full trust in God.

Jacob had to learn to put all his trust in God; not in himself, or others.

God was at work sanding off Jacob's rough edges.  He was changing him from a deceiver, to a patriarchal man of faith.

The future of the church depends on the spiritual lives of the church's individual members.  Jesus said that if we "abide in Him" we will bear much fruit. 

In our study of Scripture today we discover that if we are filled with God's Spirit, we will be filled with singing, thankfulness, and service.

We are continuing with our study in John 15 around the subject, "How do I Abide in Christ?"  Jesus promised His disciples that if they abided in Him, they would produce much fruit.  That is our desire as a church, but how do we do it?

This episode was in response to a survey we took concerning our overall health.

This is the third sermon around the subject of Joseph from the book of Genesis.  Joseph is unique in that his life is life a scale model for the later life of Christ.  In this sermon we look at his imprisonment and exaltation.

The story of Jacob in the Old Testament is the story of God's salvation.  Jacob was first chosen, then God worked on him to give him victory over his sinful nature, his dysfunctional nurture, his personal narcissism, and over the nincompoops of his life.
