I love when scripture makes sense! Not every time we read something in the Bible does it hit my head or my heart the way I want it to, but I have learned, if we keep reading, keep thinking about it, the Lord will begin to reveal more truths to us.  Today we are talking about Psalms 1 and Psalms 119  

When we actually start looking for Jesus in out everyday... funny thing is... we actually see Him!  He has always been there and will always be there, the difference is us! Our eyes begin to open to see Him and notice all the areas of our day in which God is working and moving. The choice we get to make is, are we going to join Him!?

Listening to what God is trying to teach me is a constant battle. Yet, when I take time to process what He is telling me, I feel His abundant wisdom lived out in my life and the life of those around me. Stretching myself and doing something hard! I felt God telling me to step out and commit to day a podcast recording everyday for at least a week.. but that seems to hard, to much of a commitment. So much of our day if filled with negativity and stress. But God is calling us to be the light that shines in the dark for all to see, to be the salt of this world. As we shine for Jesus, others are encouraged to do the same and are drawn towards Him. May we learn to trust in Jesus for each day, walking in righteousness that pushes others to seek after Him more and more. 

The world around us constantly projects its opinion upon us. With no apologies to those who disagree. The more we listen and surround ourselves with these lies, the more they infiltrate into our heart. How do we fight against this? How can we know the truth and live a life that honors God? We cling to His word. And you know what? The more we hear the truth, read the truth and listen to the truth,...

We all are human. We want to fall back into our lazy ways not pursuing after Christ and His righteousness. It's hard work! We may even think we can float for a little bit in the middle- not pushing the "good Christian" thing very hard- and not living in out right sin and rebellion. But because we are human, if we aren't pursuing after righteousness we are automatically falling away from Christ. It...

Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes we need to fight hand in hand with our Savior. Thank goodness Isaiah reminds us that we don't have to do it alone! 

As women and mommas, we do this all the time! Comparison. We may even do it so much we aren't even aware we are doing it! But is it healthy, is it what God wants for our lives? How can we begin to love our selves enough to speak kindness and truth to our hearts so we can love others better? 

James chapter 2:14 teaches us how faith and works are intertwined to produce a saving faith. Without works our faith is dead. We must get up off the bench and participate in the things that God has prepared for us in advance.

James 3:13-18  How do we become wise in the mist of broken people? James tells us  we need to live well, live wisely, and live humbly, treat others with dignity and honor. 

While fishing with my son, Jesus asked me if I was willing to give up those things that I was passionate about. Matthew 18

We have things in our life we don't want to give up on! Health, loved ones, relationships, dreams, children... This story of Jacob reminds us that God honors our persistence, don't give up, keep pressing forward to grab hold of His promises!
