This past weekend saw Year 2 of the PWHL get underway which meant it was time for our Minnesota Frost to make history and hoist our Walter Cup banner and it was a day that left the entire Purple Trio in an emotional wreck I was in tears from the moment the live stream started whilst Pluto & Lady held on until it was time to raise the banner, we could not be more prouder of our Minnesota Frost

It's hard to believe that Year 2 of the PWHL is right around the corner but before we begin the defense of our Walter Cup title the Purple Trio are here to recap on some of the amazing things achieved in the first ever season of the Professional Womens Hockey League

While the timing of its reveal might not have been perfect the excution however was flawless as we now have six stunning jerseys to go alongside the amazing brands that were revealed back in September The Purple Trio is here as we share our thoughts on both home and road designs for the Inaugural Six and pick our favourite for each team which causes quite a few shocks and surprises

With the PWHL intending to expand by two teams next year the question now falls to where and in this bonus edition of Purple Reign the Purple Trio is assembled to make our cases Collectvely we all agree the PWHL should go to Seattle but we each have a difference of opinion on where the second team goes

Four days after the league wide reveal of team names and brands the New York Sirens revealed where their primary home venue would be for the upcoming season and its the home of the New Jersey Devils This change has me seriously concerned as New York is a rich hockey market and whilst the Sirens in their first year failed to make the most of it surely the PWHL can't give up on this market just yet

Last week marked a month before Year 2 of the PWHL and the title defense of our Frost's Walter Cup begins and the league made some interesting announcements We collectively as a trio believe the league is going too fast and needds to walk before it can run as the hard work has been done to lay the foundations and we don't want it to end in smoke
