Purple Mafia -Minnesota Vikings Podcast-

Back and forth the Vikings and Miami Dolphins squandered offensive opportunities, and their defenses flexed their muscles. When the "ride" was over, the Vikings clearly have not improved an inch, since week one. We also talk more Vincent Jackson, and our host's desire for his services being brought north. We also get to your facebook posts, and twitter mentions, as always! Call into our Phone Line...

With the strange decisions made this past week: First, yet again favoring Tarvaras Jackson over Sage Rosenfels. Second: Trading the most dependable kick returner we had, in Darius Reynaud WITH Sage to the hated New York Giants. Third: Passing on T.J. Houshmanzadeh, and cutting Javon Walker leaving us with only four active receivers. Call into our Phone Lines at: 209-736-7877 Learn more about your...

Yeah Brett's back, but Sidney Rice won't be for eight weeks, Percy Harvin collapses on the sidelines as migraines continue to plague this talented youth. As a result, the Vikings sign former Favre co-hourt Javon Walker, and trade Benny Sapp to Miami for Greg Camarillo who can catch with two parts of his body. Donovan McNabb is now a Redskin, in a fairly surprising in division trade. McNabb is no longer a plan 1A for the Vikings at QB, for this year anyway, this does not end any chance he'll sign here after the final year of his contract ends this coming season. We also get more into the draft on possible scenarios that could arise, as we also get to your comments on the PM Facebook group! Call into our...

In this emotional episode, a clearly drained Joey Awaijane talks about what he dubs "The Curse of '69". The "what ifs" that have plagued this franchise for 40 years reared their ugly heads yet again, this time in New Orleans as despite six official turnovers, the Vikings were on the doorstep of a game winning field goal, that would never get to happen. The swagger of the Minnesota Vikings continued where it left off, starting from the second half of the Chicago Bears game. The much anticipated Vikings vs Saints title game is now here, and your host likes Favre's chances of carving up a mediocre Saints defense. Call into our phone lines at 209-736-7877. Dome field advantage in round two, strongly helps the Vikings chances of getting to their third NFC Championship game in 12 seasons. Can the Vikings go beyond round three? Joey seems to think so, because the road to the Superbowl may not be quite as perilous as once thought. Joey takes two calls from Anthony from L.A., and goes deep in playoff talk. Despite a wonderful resurgence by the Vikings offense in the second half, their poor play in the first half was too much for them to overcome in the end. Sure the Vikings tied it, but they never should have been there in the first place. Call into our phone lines at 209-736-7877. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Vikings lost to another sub par team late in a good season, like they have so many times the last 40 years. Joey rants a little as he reviews this awful game, and previews coming Bears game. The Vikings bounced back very impressively against the Cincinnati Bengals, after that awful Arizona game. The running game literally "carried" the Vikings, as Peterson and Taylor did what they do best, move the chains, and score TDs. Everything went wrong for the Vikings on Sunday: The Saints won, the Vikings lost, and E.J. Henderson broke his femur in a freak accident. In a game for the ages, and perhaps the one and only game that Brett Favre will ever play in Lambeau Field not as a Packer, was a victory for our Vikings. The first time back, will only happen once, and Favre has it, and the Vikings now hold a not only a 2 and a half game lead, but have swept the Packers this season. Also, Jared Allen now has 7.5 sacks against the Packers in the two games they've...

Multiple chances to win or at least take the lead were squandered against the Steelers, and the Vikings ran out of lives, at least for one game. Joey reviews this emotional game, and also previews what he expects to be an extremely emotional game next week in Green Bay! Call our Phone Lines at 209-736-7877 Learn more about your ad choices. The Rices were nothing short of amazing on Sunday, as both made game changing plays down the stretch. Luckily, our own Sidney Rice would have the last laugh, with a 63 yard reception late in the game. Rice's catch would prove to be the game clinching play, as the Ravens Hauschka couldn't connect on a 44 yard attempt with 2 seconds to go. Learn more about your ad choices. In a game that resembled the preseason, the Vikings took care of business and beat the St. Louis Rams soundly on Sunday. The Rams had numerous opportunities in the Vikings' red zone in the first half, but coughed the ball up every single time. Joey also previews next week's big test against Baltimore!
