The 7th regular season of Purple Mafia came to an end, and despite finishing 7-9, left us very encouraged about the future of this franchise. Though the season finale had little to gush about, few would disagree that the Minnesota Vikings have their franchise quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. Under coach Mike Zimmer, this team is headed in the right direction, with more holes filled in the off-sea...

The Minnesota Vikings lost in Miami in one of the craziest games in an overall very crazy season. A dirty stain on this game though, was the men wearing stripes, as the refs literally took control of this game on both sides, with extremely tight pass interference calls against both teams. The overall play of the day however, at least in the first half, was a very controversial non touchdown given...

Things looked so good for Teddy Bridgewater and the Minnesota Vikings, especially when they went ahead 14-0 in Detroit. The Lions couldn't even get a single first down well into the second quarter, while Bridgewater and co. were looking as sharp as ever... then came an overthrow that lead to an interception, and another... www.thesportsstuff.com www.facebook.com/purplemafiashow @purplemafiashow Ca...

Yes it was an ugly game overall, yes there's no reason the young Vikings should have to go to overtime against a 2-10 mess of a NY Jets team, but yes, Teddy Bridgewater made giant steps today. The defense missed key sacks, Walsh missed key FG attempts, Kalil almost got us killed again, and Patterson is as recognizable as Hank Baskett. Aside of all the negative things, Flight 17 finally left the ai...

Minnesota Vikings did something they haven't done since 1986, they blocked a punt. Then, the Vikings did something they haven't done since 1983, and an NFL franchise hasn't done since 1990, when they blocked a SECOND punt for a Touchdown. When a phenomenon like this happens, you'd hope to come out with a win, and the Vikings did. Teddy Bridgewater also responded well on the field, to Tim Hasselbec...

Today's game was filled with countless recurring themes for the Minnesota Vikings, good and bad. Despite the defense being very representative in this game, the Purple still couldn't finish the job in the end. www.thesportsstuff.com facebook.com/purplemafiashow @purplemafiashow Call into our Phone Lines at:207-736-7877 Learn more about your ad choices. The Chicago Bears horrible defense, and out of control QB Jay Cutler spell a very winnable game for the Vikings, a chance to end the slump in Soldier Field. Unfortunately, it was the Vikings who ended all of the Bears slumps on Sunday. www.thesportsstuff.com www.facebook.com/purplemafiashow @purplemafiashow Call into our Phone Lines at:209-736-7877 Learn more about your ad choices. In an unorthodox episode of PM, Joey pieces together a pretty fun show, about an equally fun..um...second half, not game! Teddy Bridgewater's development continues to move forward, and the Vikings defensive line stands strong through out the day, the team itself still has a ways to go though. www.facebook.com/purplemafiashow @purplemafiashow Call into our Phone Lines at:209-736-7877 Learn more abo...

It wasn't pretty, and in a lot of ways this game was horrible to watch. Along the way, a few forward steps for this franchise began to take shape, along with a great defensive play leading the Vikings to an overtime victory in Tampa Florida. The Minnesota Vikings didn't trail in Sunday's game in Buffalo NY, until the final second remaining. In a heartbreaking 17-16 loss, the Vikings, after playing great defense, sacking Kyle Orton six times, couldn't make stops on key 3rd and longs, along with a back breaking 4th and 20 on the final drive of the game. www.thesporsstuff.com www.facebook.com/purplemafiashow @purplemafiashow Call into ou...

We've heard many times that the game is won in the trenches, this could not be more true to what we saw Sunday. The Detroit Lions defensive line manhandled the Vikings offensive line, rendering Teddy Bridgewater almost useless. Joey also discusses the 25 year anniversary of the most infamous trade in Vikings if not NFL history.www.thesportsstuff.comwww.facebook.com/purplemafiashow@purplemafiashowC...

We were all so excited for Teddy Bridgewater to have his prime time debut on Thursday night, instead we found out we were getting a dirty stain on our nice new suit, named Christian Ponder. We all knew were in trouble when Bridgewater was ruled out, but there was always a chance Ponder would make the most of this opportunity, right? Wrong. www.thesportsstuff.com www.facebook.com/purplemafiashow @p...

Teddy Bridgewater, Jerrick McKinnon and the Minnesota Vikings had a coming out party Sunday afternoon vs the Atlanta Falcons, in a 41-28 victory at TCF Bank Stadium. Chants of "Teddy! Teddy! Teddy!" were heard as number 5 was about to take his first snap as a starter, and were heard throughout the game. Bridgewater didn't throw a touchdown pass, but threw for over 300 yards, and looked the part of...

The New Orleans Saints, the dirty rotten scoundrels have injured another Vikings quarterback. Ok, maybe this time around, the Saints didn't deliberately injury anybody, but the hatred remains. With Matt Cassel having several broken bones in his foot, like it or not, Teddy Bridgewater takes over, in what your host calls a blessing in disguise, find out why in this episode! Joey unleashes his wrath...

Your host, Paladino Joey had a dream before last week's game vs the Patriots, that the Vikings would be crushed, and that's exactly what happened. The dream however. paled in comparison to the nightmare that would cloud this team all week, and for the foreseeable future.www.facebook.com/purplemafiashow@purplemafiashowCall into our Phone Lines at: 209-736-7877Learn more about your ad choices. Ok, the Vikings didn't beat up on a good team, or even a decent team, but what are you supposed to do to an inferior opponent? "Squash a mosquito with an axe", and Minnesota did just that in St Louis. As predicted by your host, Mike Zimmer's defense put it's stamp on this game, early and often. Cordarrelle Patterson appears ready to take the reigns as the top offensive threat, and in so many diffe...

The 2014 NFL season is finally here for real, and the Minnesota Vikings appear ready to start a promising new era with a renewed defense, and a solid to very good offense. Joey goes over the cuts, and talks extensively about his prospects for this Vikings team, as well as the players that semi surprisingly made the team, before he takes a call from Sebastian. We then go full force into the NFC Nor...

Matt Cassel wasn't super sharp, but still looked solid, Teddy Bridgewater didn't have much field in which to shine, but did just that, in what was given to him. With all that said, the defense is what shined brightest in this game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike Zimmer and George Edwards have breathed life into what Jared Allen called "The worst defense I've ever been a part of" less than a y...

Matt Cassel looked solid once again, showing continued good chemistry with Greg Jennings, in what should be a frequent combination this year. Teddy Bridgewater looked sharp pretty much the entire time he was in the game, including an exciting game winning drive with just 1:11 remaining. Anthony Barr and the linebackers continue to look better than last year, and the secondary shows some holes, but...
