Several inspirational artists left us recently, including the great Junior Mance, whose records I've really loved since DJ Center put me onto him years ago. RIP Mr. Mance, RIP Ricky Powell, RIP Double K, RIP DOOM. Condolences to everyone who's lost loved ones and to others in the hip-hop and broader community who drew inspiration from the incredible work these folks and others put in over the year...

A special all-Stax guest set from Daniel Littlewood, who I've been digging records and sharing music with since we were in high school together. Trying to do some more thematic episodes and tributes, and so this week I put together a little tribute to the great Brother Jack McDuff (RIP), who was born September 17th, 1926. Had to take a break from the podcast this past month - there's so many more important things happening now that deserved, and continue to deserve, everyone's focus. A couple months ago, Phil Barnes put out a call for DJs to submit guest sets for his great show on WVUD, the radio station of the University of Delaware. There's a bunch of dope folks who played great records - this set played earlier this May, and now I'm throwing it online for this week's episode. All-45s, I tried to keep things funky but chill.
