Presence: Experiencing the Nearness of God

I pray The Divine Office twice today in times and places people don't know that I'm praying. Through this I experience God's Presence.

I create a video for Mondays during Lent which guides students in meditation and reflection. Today I felt God near as we watched it on a bright morning.

After a few cuts away, I return to my hair stylist and discover all is forgiven.

I work at at my Saturday winery job and am also still when I meditate at home. Through both I felt God's Presence.

I see my son's performance of Mary Poppins a second time and experience God's Presence in the joy and the fruit of hard work.

My son steps on stage after many hours of rehearsal and I feel God's Presence in my pride and joy.

I record in real time in the midst of waiting for a tow truck to come and jump start my car. I am experiencing God's Presence in the midst of this actual breakdown.

I am surprised when I experience the Presence of God as I remove and save used coffee grounds from plastic K pod cups.

My school has a rather pleasant fire drill and I pray for the students and teachers in Parkland, FL who returned to their school campus yesterday for the first time since the shooting on Feb 14th.

I see the face of Christ in an engaged little one and the adults who gave her much love as they sat in the pew in front of me.

I work my second, Saturday job at a local winery and experience God's Presence as I talk about faith with a guest.

On a very warm February afternoon I get outside to our school garden. I experience the Presence of God as I pray the Divine Office.

I listen to a podcast about Mr. Rogers Neighborhood's 50th anniversary of its first broadcast and feel God's Presence through this gentle soul.

I'm praying the Divine Office or Prayer of the Hours four times.each day of Lent. Today I tell about this practice and how I experienced God in it this Sabbath day.

I attend my first meeting with Moms Demand Action and feel God's Presence in those working for justice and to save lives.

#47 I am moved by the Holy Spirit to up publicly to remember the educators murdered by a high powered weapon of war in Parkland, Florida.

#46 I experience God's Presence in talking about action for gun safety and find encouragement from a Freshman and also a Grandmother.

I experience God's Presence in prophetic preaching which asks how much longer will we tolerate mass murder from weapons designed for the battlefield?

I experience God's Presence with the Communion of Saints and communion during the Care 4 Creation Association meeting.

I experience God's Presence in the ideas of two books which hold up a mirror for me and show me areas of growth and conversion this Lenten season.

I experience God's Presence as my wife and I attend the 9 pm student mass on the OSU campus.
