Prem de la Prem: A Premier League Podcast

We're joined by Will and Scott on the 1st of our summer round tables to talk about the champs, Liverpool. We actually were able to unpack what Liverpool has to now that they've made it to the mountain top. Can they stay there? These guys certainly think so but we put them to the test with a few high pressure segments.

Before we start up our round tables tomorrow, we wanted to get you all an episode. We're not just here to preview the round tables, but to talk about 2 hot button issues. Obviously we need to talk about Messi - it's just insane. Unfortunately, we're even more confused about what is happening with Harry Maguire, but nonetheless, we'll try to make some sense of this situation through all the noise.

We've taken some time to reflect, some time to really focus on ourselves, which is why we start this episode with one of our most self-serving segments yet. We obviously have a lot to talk about as it relates to the early rumblings of the transfer market, the strange and exciting European competitions, and some of our more outlandish predictions from previous episodes.

Alas, we have reached the end of the longest season in Premier League history. If you were under a rock all year and need a rundown of the season, we have a special guest catch you up at the top of the show. Surely we'll also find out that our friend, Will Jones, is okay, no? Things get a little heated in a couple of segments we're going to need to get the Premheads to weigh in on.

After an eventful set of FA Cup semi-finals, we're set for a London derby in the FA Cup Final in less than two weeks. But first, we have a season to finish. There are 3 Champions League places up for grabs and a relegation battle still looming for a few teams. As always, lot for us to talk about and I promise we don't spend the full hour discussing Arsenal and United.

As the season draws to a close, our attention is drawn to a few key areas. Project Restart forgot to hit the restart button on VAR it would seem, Bournemouth or Villa are running out of time to change their fate, and once again, we're not sure anyone actually wants to finish in the top 4.

Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives. Liverpool are champions of the Premier League for the first time. With 7 matches left, where does this put them among the all-time best teams in the Premier League era? If you don't care about that, we also break down the super spicy relegation battle for your little ears.

Did the Premier League actually take some time off? It would seem to us they didn't skip a beat with Project Restart. We got instant drama, controversy, and same old Arsenal all within a week. Who knows what we have in store for the rest of the season, but we have no issues speculating wildly about it.

We got everything you need to know about the return of the premier league covered. Are there any rule changes? What happens with the transfer window? As we near the midway point of the season, both Arsenal and Everton are set to be on their 3rd manager of the season. Remarkable stuff really. We weigh in on who has it worse and where those teams go from here. Don't forget, we're revealing our teams of the decade. Surely some answers will shock you. What a crazy couple of weeks it has been folks. We've had 3 managers sacked, 2 VAR blunders, 1 turtle dove, and 0 Arsenal wins. The highlight games this week are Liverpool v Everton, United v Spurs, and Arsenal v Brighton. We'll give our first take on it, as well as remind you where everything stands in the league after the international break.

You talked, we listened. This week, we're starting off the episode with a look at Spurs vs Everton in our first week of the 3 game highlights. We also get into how hot Chelsea is and how Liverpool can't seem to lose if they tried. I wonder if anyone reads these descriptions. Impossible to avoid, we let you know how we're interpreting Xhakagate, but it's hardly all we discuss. We dip our toes outside of the big 6 and talk about a the thumping of the century at Southampton before heading to Anfield to talk about yet another Liverpool win. Enthralling, we know. We finally met our match. This week of games had everything. We saw huge performances, massive bottle jobs, every application of VAR, and a number of quotes to draw our ear.
