"Prayer Changes Everything" Devotion for Today

December 05, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Only One Who Conquered Death" Luke 24:6 He is not here, but is risen. Something distinguishes Christianity from all the religions of the world. Not only does it carry the truth of the redemption, by the death of our Savior for our sins on the cross, but it carries the fact that Christ rose again. Only the Christian faith claims that its Leader died and rose again...

December 04, 2022 Daily Devotion: "The Pleasure That Runs Deep" Acts 13:52 The disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost. The Bible speaks of three kinds of pleasure. There is lustful pleasure, the lust of the flesh, and Scripture says it is sinful and wrong. There is legitimate pleasure, which is not wrong, but we are not to become so preoccupied with its activities that it takes th...

December 03, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Everyday Process... " 1 Corinthians 3:1 The Living Bible Translation Dear brothers, I have been talking to you as though you were still just babies in the Christian life . . . Some people have received Christ but have never reached spiritual maturity. They have been in church all their lives, and yet they have never become mature Christians. They are still consid...

December 02, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Total Surrender" John 11:40 Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? If you are a young man or young woman hooked on dissent or despair, ready to split, then lend me your attention. My answer concerns your dreams, and the element in your make-up called “faith.” All that God requires of anyone in taking his first s...

November 30, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Unity is the key to Victory" John 15:12 Love one another, as I have loved you. As I study the subject of “separation” in the Old and New Testaments, I discover that the weight of Scripture lies in the direction of fellowship rather than separation. What is the great overwhelming evidence that we have passed from death unto life? It is love! Jesus Christ clearly w...

November 29, 2022 Daily Devotion: "The Law" Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. When God gave the law, He knew that man was incapable of keeping it. Many persons are confused as to why God gave the law, if He knew man could not possibly keep it. The Bible teaches that the law was given as a mirror; I look into the law...

November 28, 2022 Daily Devotion: "A Living Soul" Psalm 33:20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord . . . I am a soul—and I have a body! The body is the house in which the soul lives. In this materialistic age we often forget that the real, the abiding part of us is invisible. Much time, money, and effort are expended to perpetuate the physical part of us, and too many are unconcerned about their spiritua...

November 27, 2022 Daily Devotion: “The Internal Revenue Service” Luke 12:42 And the Lord said, who then is that faithful and wise steward . . . It is not wrong for men to possess riches. But the Bible warns that money cannot buy happiness! Money cannot buy true pleasure. Money cannot buy peace of heart. And money certainly cannot buy entrance into the Kingdom of God. Often money is a hindrance to...

November 26, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Worship in Particular Place and in Particular Time” Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together . . . I will not argue with you about nature inspiring thoughts of God. David said, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork.” But at the same time, I would give you no comfort about absenting yourself from the...

November 25, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Putting Less Confidence in Ourselves" Lamentations 3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. Our modern philosophy of self-reliance and self-sufficiency has caused many to believe that we can make the grade without God. “Religion,” they argue, “may be all right for certain emotional people, but you can’t beat a man who believes in himself.”...

November 24, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Mourning to Joy" Psalm 34:18 The Living Bible Translation The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking; he rescues those who are humbly sorry for their sins. In God’s economy, you must go down into the valley of grief before you can scale the heights of spiritual glory. You must become tired and weary of living alone before you seek and find the fellowshi...

Jos...

As I study the subject of “separation” in the Old and New Testaments, I discover that the weight of Scripture lies in the direction of fellowship rather than separation. November 21, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Fit for the Master’s Service” James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God . . . You have a tongue and a voice. These instruments of speech can be used destructively or employed constructively. You can use your tongue to slander, to gripe, to scold, to nag, and to quarrel; or you can bring it under the control of God’s Spirit and make it an instrument of blessing...

November 20, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Deformity Precedes Conformity" 2 Corinthians 12:9 Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. God is especially close to us when we are lying on a sickbed. God will make the bed soft and will freshen it with His presence and with His tender care. He makes the bed comfortable and wipes away our tears. He...

November 19, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Invest for God... " James 4:14 For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Nothing takes God by surprise. Everything is moving according to a plan, and God wants you in that plan. The devil also has a plan for the world. God has a plan and the devil has a plan, and you will have to decide which plan you a...

The great economic and material prosperity we are enjoying today is a gift of God’s hand. The Bible tells us that the very goodness of God should lead us to repentance. All of these material blessings are gifts from God, given in order that we might hum...

November 16, 2022 Daily Devotion: "The True Joy of a Christian Living ..." 2 Corinthians 9:7 God loveth a cheerful giver. The greatest blessing of giving is not on the financial side of the ledger but on the spiritual side. You receive a sense of being honest with God. You receive a consciousness that you are in partnership with God—that you are doing something constructive—that you are working wi...

November 15, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Pray, Believe, Receive... " Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Prayer is a two-way conversation; it is our talking to God, and His talking to us. As a Christian, you have a heavenly Father who hears and answers prayer. Jesus said, “All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive...

November 14, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Deny and Follow..." Isaiah 26:3 The Living Bible Translation He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord! You have an ego - a consciousness of being an individual. Of course, you do. But that doesn’t mean that you are to worship yourself, to think constantly of yourself, and to live entirely for yourself. Common...

November 13, 2022 Daily Devotion: "His Purity Still Shows Up Our Impurities" Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him . . . One of the ironies of human nature is that it often has a way of rejecting the best and accepting the worst. Why did the crowd ask for the release of Barabbas and the crucifixion of Jesus? The answer is in the biblical...

You can be miserable with much, if you are out of His...

November 11, 2022 Daily Devotion: “The Mystery of the Gospel” Ephesians 6:19 “that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel.” The word “mystery” means beyond human knowledge or understanding. God’s mysteries baffle the unbelieving, but bless the believer. The mystery of righteousness, like some of the other great mysteries of God, we cannot comprehend, but we know it wor...
