I have done 8 short podcasts with only a few notes written in English. It is helping me. I have had some good spontaneous conversations with several native Russian speakers recently.

My experience working as volunteer in mass vaccination clinic for covid vaccine.

With no notes, I explain how I have been writing sentences in Russian, and receiving corrections from a partner who lives in СПБ. I correct his English sentences so it is a true language exchange.

One hobby is baking bread. Here I offer some keys to success. I tried to do this talk with no notes, but found that I needed some notes. From now on I will do “a hybrid” approach where I try to use notes less.

Second episode of speaking freely with only a few notes. I noticed a few more grammar mistakes. This is a good exercise! If I really mess up, I can erase the recording and redo. As language learners we need to overcome the fear of speaking.

One goal this year is to speak spontaneously without notes. I am going to use 30 day speaking challenge topics. Todays topic is : why do you study Russian( what foreign language do you study and why)
