If we want to thrive in our relationship to God and in our lives in general, we must build on the right foundation. Mathew chapters 5-7 tell us how. As we continue to study what we need to create the correct environment for thriving in our Christian faith, we want to begin examining another important section of scripture: the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount. At the end of his message, Jesus talks about foundations. I want to start there and set the tone for our study of these sayings of Jesus.

The basis for all that God does in restoring and maintaining his relationship with man is covenant. In Deuteronomy 28:1-14, ds the practical blessings of life that belonged to Israel under their covenant. We have a better covenant, but it contains all that old covenant did, only better. Hebrews chapter 12 reveals some important elements we need to create the environment in which we will thrive. The most important thing to cultivate in our Christian walk is the Love of God. What is the nature of God's love? What would cultivating God's love in our daily lifestyle look like? Jesus said that everything "hangs" upon two commandments. One is the Love the Lord your God with all that you are. To have the right environment to thrive, we must cultivate the love of God in all areas of our lives. This begins with love in the household of faith. God wants us to thrive in 2025. That word also means flourish. To do either we must develop the right environment so God can bring that to our lives. The first thing we must understand is the Love of God. We must both know the love God has for us and we must also believe it. As we study how to thrive in 2025, a synonym for thrive is to flourish. To flourish requires the right environment. Let's look at the elements from the Bible that will create that environment.
