Positive Charge with David Shivers

I want to always agree with the Psalmist who wrote in Psalm 118:24 – THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE; LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT. Did you wake up today with that in your heart? That is how I want to be every day.

Religious but not spiritual. This condition of being Religious but not spiritual is not a new phenomenon. It is as old as time.

People say of their loved ones, THEY WERE SPIRITUAL BUT NOT RELIGIOUS. Spiritual but not religious. Today I want to tell you how I interpret that phrase. To me, another way to say spiritual but not religious is DISOBEDIENT YET HOPEFUL.

The word OVERWHELMED . . . Do you ever feel that way? I knew the answer before I asked the question. Of course, you do. Today I want to talk about how to stay above water, or how to sink. It is our choice, isn’t it?

New Years is always a pivotal moment for me. As the calendar turns many of us will make resolutions. Many will map out the year ahead as best they can. For 2023, I resolve to Stay Positive in this negative world. Will you join me?

No matter what happens or what situation you find yourself in, just KEEP ON SINGING!  Merry Christmas.

I am so thankful for God's truth!

Have you ever prayed wrongly? Right before Jesus taught his disciples to pray, he told them about some people who prayed all wrong.

We can all be lead astray if we do not protect ourselves. As we continue in our study of the Lord’s prayer we are now at the part – AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

We all wrestle with sin. It is a struggle all of our days. Romans 3:23 tells us ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD. We are all in the same boat and all of us need the forgiveness of God.

Today we look at GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD. It is important that we began with God first and foremost. He must come first. After that, we can look at our own needs.

How many wills are there in Heaven? The answer is ONE.

THY KINGDOM COME or MY KINGDOM COME. We all wrestle with that don’t we?

Hallowed be Thy name. Hallow is not a word that we toss around very often. What does it mean to hallow? It means to MAKE HOLY. We are to make holy God’s name.

Today we look at the words found directly after OUR FATHER. Those words are IN HEAVEN. We dream of Heaven, don’t we?

Our Father . . . I am a small dot on a small planet in a galaxy in an incredibly large universe. I am miniscule. In fact, all of us are when put in our cosmic place. Other words for miniscule include – MINUTE, MICROSCOPIC, NANOSCOPIC, DIMINUTIVE, MINIATURE, INFINITESIMAL, TEENY-WEENY. Before you feel small and unimportant, I want to blow your mind. THE GOD WHO CREATED THIS GREAT UNIVERSE WANTS YOU...

Today I want to talk about OBEDIENCE. God expects us to be obedient. I read long ago that there are 3 Good reasons to be obedient. Listen as we explore how to live an obedient life.

Be an encourager with your words.  Choose words wisely and lift others up!

Today we continue in our series called Great Expectations. Matthew, Mark and Luke, all tell us that Jesus said that we were to become like children. He expects us to become like children.

This week we explore what it means to have a healthy fear of God.  It's really respect and awe because of who He is.  By fearing the Lord, people avoid evil.  The opposite is also true. By NOT fearing God people run to evil. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast!

We cannot say that we love the Lord while we are being a scoundrel to others around us. So, if you want to please God, be good to all you encounter.
