Poly-ish Movie Reviews
Welcome to Poly-ish Movie Reviews, where I watch the crap so you don't have to! I watch a lot of movies. Some of those movies are great. But a lot of them are crap. I'm here to help you sort out which is which, so that you don't have to waste your time on bad cinema, unless that's your thing. No judgement - I like a lot of terrible movies. I'm just saying that, as we polys know, love may be infinite, but time is not. Let me help you manage that increasingly rare and precious time of yours by sharing my opinions on movies that some have claimed to be "poly" so that you can make better decisions...

Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 7: Café au Lait 15.12.2015 9:48
Joreth reviews Café au Lait with Julie Mauduech, Hubert Koundé, and Mathieu Kassovitz. Lola is pregnant and doesn't know who the father is, while neither man even knew that Lola was seeing someone else. The Summary tells us that Lola is pregnant and doesn't know which of the two men she loves is the father. I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, I was let down. It was "poly", but the mov...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 6: My 5 Wives 15.11.2015 13:29
Joreth reviews the movie My 5 Wives with Rodney Dangerfield, Molly Shannon, & Andrew Dice Clay. An entrepreneur buys some land in Utah and inherits the prior owner's wives as part of the bargain. I like Rodney Dangerfield. Two of my favorite classic '80s films are Caddyshack and Back To School . But let's be honest here, he's a sexist prick and his movies are terrible. I like terrible films...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 5: Head In The Clouds 15.10.2015 9:19
Joreth reviews the movie Head In The Clouds with Charlize Theron, Penelope Cruz, and Stuart Townsend. A sweeping romantic saga about a triad in Europe and the pressures of war on love. This was a really good movie in general, and a decent poly movie. It takes place in 1930s Paris, for the most part, with a little bit in England and Spain. Gilda is a rich hedonist who travels the world in pursu...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 4: Two Girls And A Guy 15.09.2015 12:20
Joreth reviews the movie Two Girls And A Guy with Robert Downey Jr., Heather Grahm, and Natasha Gregson Wagner. Two women discover they are both sleeping with the same man and confront him. I had low expectations for this one. It was recommended to me by Netflix after I added a bunch of other movies from so-called "poly movie lists" around the web. It has big names in it. It's American. It's w...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 3: Belle Epoque 15.08.2015 7:40
Joreth reviews the movie Belle Epoque with Penelope Cruz, where a young, handsome Spanish Civil War deserter seeks refuge with a generous artist and finds himself in the middle of a romantic dilemma when the four beautiful daughters return home to the family nest. This was a quirky Spanish film that promised a story about a man , Fernando, who falls in love with four sisters in 1931 during the...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 2: Her 15.07.2015 36:06
Joreth reviews the movie Her with Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johannson. A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need. I finally got around to watching the relatively new movie, Her . It was recommended to me by, oh, everyone who saw it. But for different reasons. I wanted to see it for the obvious geeky tec...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - Episode 1: Carrington 15.06.2015 6:16
Joreth reviews the movie Carrington , with Emma Thompson, Jonathan Pryce, and Steven Waddington. This is the story of real-life painter Dora Carrington, her life-partner Lytton Strachey, and their various loves. I watched a movie that was recommended on a very long list of "poly" movies. Many of the movies on the list are more about cheating and being forced to choose between partners, so I was s...
Poly-ish Movie Reviews - The Criteria List 16.04.2015 18:54
What does "poly-ish" mean and how does a movie make it onto the "approved" list versus a movie that doesn't? This episode will cover the entire criteria that Joreth uses to evaluate movies for poly content for all future movie review episodes, including: What makes a movie polyamorous? What makes it just an "open relationship"? What's the difference between a poly movie and a poly-ish movie? ...
