Many followers of Christ believe in God’s truth, nature, and plans as revealed through the Bible. We hear Him personally through the Spirit. However, many lack confidence in hearing God’s voice in their lives on a personal level. People have told me that they either don’t hear God’s voice or are uncertain about what He is clearly saying to them.

Last week, Pastor Gregg started a short series called Hearing God, referencing Ben Dixon's book Hearing God. He shared how we were created for a relationship with God and how that relationship was damaged. The good news is that Jesus came to restore that relationship. Not only does God hear and listen to you and me, but He speaks to each of us, and we can hear Him if we are listening.

How are you at listening to God's voice? The word “listen” and its derivatives are used 338 times in the NIV Bible. The word “hear” and its derivatives are used 982 times. That means there is a lot of talking and listening in the Bible! The most common use of the word “listen” in The Bible is God telling us to listen.
