Pokésports: A Competitive Pokémon Podcast

It's a new month, so let's chat about the newest stats from December 2020, heading into January 2021! Series 7 has been one of (if not THE) most balanced series so far.  Also, we discuss the upcoming Players Cup 3 and some tips you can take into this month to get yourself into the qualifiers!

It's a very long overdue farewell to 2020. That said, Pokémon isn't slowing down at all! Several friendly competitions for the "GS Cup" have been popping up, and it's looking like a pretty awesome format. Will we see this in Series 8? Only time will tell.

In this Pokésports Christmas Special, Kevin is thinking of quitting Pokémon for good! Oh no! Will Ace Trainer Clarence be able to pull Kevin back to the wonderful world of Dynamax?

The Players Cup 2 is finally over! Time to break down what happened, and talk about what's coming next!     ALSO! What'll happen when Legendaries are allowed in VGC? Is Dynamax going to break the game? Let's find out.

This week, we introduce two new segments to the podcast. Competitive Emotional Support is where we receive your gripes regarding competitive play. What are things that make you rage? We're here to listen. "What's Missing?" Is where we chat about Pokémon who are not yet in the Sword and Shield Pokédex. The game would be wildly different with them, and we want to highlight that.

Mike & Kevin have their opinions about Ally Switch. Some say it's what's wrong with the game. Some say it's a big brain play. Whatever the idea is, the boys will discuss!

Maybe if we add a "Please" to the end of it, they'll pay more attention. It's been an issue since the very beginning of Sword and Shield - The in-game timer has not been kind to the singles game, which has led a lot of people to feel abandoned. Kevin and Mike discuss.

Kevin & Mike discuss the concept of generating Pokémon - this has been around for possibly longer than you think it has, and barring any kind of precisely-worded ban, it won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
