Podjiba

This week on the show, we dive into the first "finale" arc on 'Supernatural' (as in, the season five apocalypse endgame)! We also briefly talk about other things first, and Professor Tori Preston assigns us a game (1:08:15)! The viewing we did this week include: Season 5, Episode 10: Abandon All Hope Season 5, Episode 21: Two Minutes To Midnight Season 5, Episode 22: Swan Song As for next week, ou...

Week two of 'Supernatural' 101 (with Professor Preston) is meta week! This week, three episodes of the long-running show that showcase the show's love of television, and making jokes at the show's expense! Note: it's our 50th episode, which also means we started with a lot of nonsense up top for no particular reason, but if you want to get right into the 'Supernatural' discussion, that starts off...

Welcome! Let's begin. Specifically, let's begin Tori's 'Supernatural' course, curated with fifteen (and some bonus) episodes over the next five weeks to introduce novices Dustin and Dan (and any of you out there!) to the show. The viewing we did this week include: Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot Season 1, Episode 22: Devil's Trap Season 3, Episode 11: Mystery Spot (Although Dustin, ever the good studen...

Our journey with FNL ends with episodes 13, 14, and 15 ("Humble Pie", "Leave No One Behind", and "May The Best Man Win"). Also, starting next week we'll be going on a 'Supernatural' journey, as Tori curates five weeks of fun in an attempt to give a sense of what the show is like in just 15 episodes! Next week's homework (if you so choose): Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot Season 1, Episode 22: Devil's T...

Podjiba is a 'Friday Night Lights' (but only season two) podcast. This is a very normal thing for us to be doing. This is week four, where we discuss (11:52) episodes 10, 11, and 12 ("There Goes The Neighborhood", "Jumping The Gun", and "Who Do You Think You Are?"). We also kind of play a FNL-related game (1:03:48). You get it by now. Next week will conclude this series, and then we do something e...

Middle of July, middle of FNL Season Two, that's how the old saying goes, right? As you no doubt know by now, we're still in the middle of our rewatch, so this week's podcast covers episodes 7, 8, and 9 of season two ("Pantherama!", "Seeing Other People", and "The Confession"). So many questionable relationships, so little time! Also, a game that turned out either slightly better or much, much wor...

Last we checked, it's still July, which means we're still talking about FNL Season Two! This week's podcast covers episodes 4, 5, and 6 of season two ("Backfire", "Let's Get It On", and "How Did I Get Here"), which we definitely were more excited to talk about than, say, 'Hamilton' (8:25). Then, we play a game I didn't make up at the last minute (1:10:21)! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez! (Tra...

Well, it's officially begun. We start our July deep dive into the most controversial season of 'Friday Night Lights', season two, a.k.a. the murder season, a.k.a. the strike season! We'll be covering the show all month, but here we begin with the first three episodes of the season: "Last Days of Summer", "Bad Ideas", and "Are You Ready For Friday Night!" (7:37). We also play an FNL-themed game (50...

This week on the show: We start off with some thoughts on the 'Top Chef' finale (sorry Tori) (15:56) before we sort of loosely discuss shows that we stopped watching for some reason (28:55). Then, we get into our main topic of the week: the premiere of HBO's new version of 'Perry Mason' (41:19)! If you like sad Matthew Rhys, this may be the show for you. Finally, we end with a Dustin-led game (58:...

Hello! A note: this week's main topic is the new Michaela Cole HBO series 'I May Destroy You' (3:32), which deals (in part) with sexual assault. Understandably, this might be a sensitive topic for some listeners, so if you'd like to skip ahead, we get into some much lighter nonsense at (21:28), before playing a vaguely 'Search Party'-related game (49:39). Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

If you're looking for new television to watch, I'm not going to lie, it's kind of odd out there right now. Which is why we ended up discussing a bunch of random shows! This week: Dustin dives into the final season of '13 Reasons Why' (11:38), we talk 'Top Chef' (26:36), Tori and Dustin try to explain 'Dark' (48:30), and we revisit the fall TV lineups we put together in our very first episode. Also...

On this week's show: - HBO Max and the launch of 'Love Life' (5:07) - 'Space Force' on Netflix, which leads us down a number of other rabbit holes (18:23) - What should TV shows do about their often flattering, flattening portrayals of police (54:56)? - A game that may or may not be related to Anna Kendrick (1:33:31)! I'll be clever next week. Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

It's Accidental Train Week on Podjiba! Meaning that the show accidentally is about shows set on trains, not that something accidentally became a train. You get it. If you want to hear our thoughts/vaguely confusing explanations of the season finale of 'Run', you're in luck (7:08)! After that, we give our initial impressions of the first two episodes of 'Snowpiercer' (25:35) and play a game develop...

Hello! In this second part of our second two-part episode, we discuss all things 'Survivor', including our thoughts on the season finale, who was the greatest player ever, and if we were in the final four together, how would the game shake out! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez (and possibly the only part of the podcast we all agree on, other than none of us watching Tiger King)!

Hello! It's another week, and another two-part episode, because somehow it felt easier than giving you one two hour podcast. In this episode, our homework episodes from last week ('Fargo' for Dan, 'Friday Night Lights' for Tori, and 'Buffy' for Dustin) lead our discussion for the week (10:06) before we play Untitled Game 250 (34:40). We were also joined by a special guest, Producer Seth, who final...

In the second half of our two-part episode, it's this week's game, which involved everyone revealing some of the biggest, buzziest shows we, for whatever reason, have never seen! The answers may shock you (or maybe not, I don't know your life)! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez (and possibly the only part of the podcast we all agree on, other than none of us watching Tiger King)!

We're back with an episode so long, we split it into two parts! In this episode, we work through a bunch of different topics, including a detour through what Fall TV will look like (2:22), talking about the latest on 'Run' (23:31), 'Killing Eve' (39:34), and some other asides about streaming television (45:17) and our new TV stars on Youtube world (59:17) before ending with another look at 'Penny...

So, this week, we ran into some technical times, which means some of the segments we had planned did not record properly! Despite this, we still managed to salvage some of this week's discussion, including a discussion of the new Apple TV+ show 'Defending Jacob', and most of our discussion of the 'Westworld' finale (5:45). We'll be back next week with a (hopefully) better show! Our theme song is b...

After this week's fairly lengthy preamble, we finally get down to television business by asking the question: what show are you using as comfort TV (11:40)? Then, we get down to the weekly shenanigans, as we talk 'Penny Dreadful: City of Angels' (23:38), 'Deadwater Fell' (32:53), 'Superstore' (54;31), and 'Westworld' (1:01:12), before finally playing a game (1:20:07)! As always, we hope you enjoy...

Finally, we have the 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' discussion we've been waiting for weeks to have (9:55)! Then, Dustin helps us talk about this "new" show called 'Scrubs' (28:48)? Before we get into some other things, like 'Friday Night in With the Morgans' (45:37), a 'Devs' + 'Westworld' joint discussion (55:41), and, of course, a game (1:20:05)! As always, we hope you enjoy the show! Our theme song is b...

This week's show starts almost immediately, as we get rather quickly into SNL's "At Home" episode (2:59)! Then, we discuss the premiere of the new HBO series 'Run' (12:16), which also leads into some personal story time, before we get into some of our usual faves, like 'Survivor' (25:45), 'Manifest' (38:06), and 'Westworld' (45:49), before we finally finish up with a game (1:09:19). As always, we...

This week on the show: - We celebrate recording on Manifest Day by having Dustin catch us up on the show (7:20)! - We sort of discuss Quibi (12:48)! - Dan wants everyone to go back and check out 'Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist' (20:17)! From that point, the show sort of descends into a kind of madness, as we whip through a number of topics (28:00), before finally settling in to discuss this week's...

We didn't necessarily plan on a theme, but a theme found us: it's Scifi week! After another installment of Dustin Did You Do Your Homework (10:36), we lowkey just hang out for a while! But then we do eventually get to scifi week, including Vagrant Queen (28:00), Devs (31:47), Westworld (42:50), and then finally Survivor (57:47) and a game (1:13:32)! As always, we hope you enjoy the show! Our theme...

On this week's show, we debut a new segment: Dustin, Did You Do Your Homework? (6:00)! Then, we get to our topics of the week, including the good news about "Supernatural' (10:51), a discussion of Michonne's final episode on 'The Walking Dead' (16:39), last week's bananas double-elimination 'Survivor' (23:31), and episode two of 'Westworld' (39:44)! Then, as always, a game (1:01:53) and a rant (1:...

So... how's everybody doing? Obviously, things are crazy right now! But as long as we're all stuck in our homes, we might as well continue to come together and say a bunch of silly things about television. So. For this week's silly conversation: after a longer-than-normal intro, Tori brings us the latest from the 9-1-1: Lone Star finale and the 9-1-1 premiere (19:25), and in an unplanned segment,...
