Just around the river bend of what fans might call Disney’s all-time greatest trio of films, we come upon one of their biggest missteps: Pocahontas. Though there’s a lot to be admired about the movie (“Colours of the Wind,” anyone??), this week the Dummies are doing their best to explore some of the problematic historical and social implications of this incredibly complicated story while celebrati...

"Weeeee want Candy!" As kids, candy was the pinnacle of food (who cares about steak dinners or gourmet seafood when you can have a handful of Sour Patch Kids). Somewhere along the way, the constant nagging of teachers, parents, and health experts convinced us that candy was "bad for us" and we should only eat it "occasionally and in moderation". Well no more! This week join Tuong and Pull the Plug...

"So this is the famous Suicide Squad..." Wait didn't this movie already happen a few years ago?! Back in 2016, the comic book world was hyped to see their favorite villains team up in DC's own Guardians of the Galaxy type of movie - pitting a bunch of NOT morally good characters together to save the world. After much build up, that movie turned out to be a massive disappointment and loathed by man...

Let the games begin! Okay let’s be real. The Olympics most probably shouldn’t be happening this year due to the ongoing pandemic let alone just the sheer negative environmental impact... The post 116 – Top 5 Summer Olympic Games appeared first on PodCavern .

“Are you a Tune or a Goon?” Back in 1996, there was a movie that shook the foundation of the world (Tuong's world at least) combining the zany Looney Tunes playing a high stakes game of basketball alongside Michael Jordan against a group of talent stealing alien MonStars! Fast forward 25 years and we finally get a sequel . Was it worth the wait? Did this even need to happen? Join the two biggest S...

"I'm done running from my past." It's been over 2 years since we have got a proper movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (since Spider-Man: Far From Home came out in June of 2019 to be exact). While the Disney+ Marvel shows have been doing a great job in their own rights expanding the universe, there was a lot of appetite to see a feature length movie in the MCU. After multiple multiple delays fr...

"Well we think of life like the seasons." When people think of horror movies they often think about jump scares, lots of blood, gore, spooky creatures, ghosts, or...*shudder* children. But some horror movies opt for a different approach where it's horror of the mind, slowly peeling away at your psyche as you watch it, such as on this week's episode of Talkin' Tuong. So join Tuong and Castle Rocket...

What even is "Canadian" food anyway? There are many mixed emotions releasing this episode today. On one hand, we originally recorded this to "celebrate" Canada as we have in the past. On the other hand, with recent news and the further evidence of how Canada has mistreated our Indigenous Communities it's difficult to feel very patriotic. With that said, we have included resources in our show notes...
