Closing out Quebec brings a tear to me eye.   Ween finally does Dave a solid and ends an album with a fire-y banger.  Not much consensus on what the lyrics truly mean but we're pretty sure they are saturated in angst.  Farewell sweet Quebec.   You will be missed my friend.

150 episodes!  Another milestone.   Rolling in on the Penultimate Slot...epic landscapes abound...we bring to you...THE ARGUS.

This one slips past the radar on your average listen DESPITE the insane fact that Alcan Road is the longest track on Quebec.  We feel like this song should be permanently attached to The Argus and played as a suite/medley.  Thinking of something like the full Weather Report Suite for you Deadheads out there.

This is one of my favorite intrumentals.  I just love it.  False endings galore. Grazie mi amore!

Another in a long line of quintessential Ween Breakup Songs.  This one features a rippin Gener solo with a dollop of brown at the tail end.  

One of Ween's greatest tunes hands down no need for debate end of story goodbye see you later alligator. 

I'm in love with this tune these days.  It never really piqued my interest previously but I can't get that eery drone of "Captain...." out of my head.  

The album needed a little mood shift.  Can't just paddle through the murky murk all day long can we?

When Dave and I first heard Quebec this song stood out as an immediate and quintessential Ween Banger.  We eventually fell in love with the album as a whole but hearing Marbles assured us that we were still living deep within a Ween Renaissance.  Perfect mixture of delicate melodic songwriting and a tidal wave of brown.  When it hits it hits big.  Stick that index finger way up in the air because...

What can we say folks??  This is one of the best Ween songs ever.  On top of that I would argue (and do) that the album cut of this song is superior to any live rendition.  We love hearing it performed live but it's one of the few Ween songs where its absolute beauty and majesty is perfectly encapsulated in the studio recording. It simply doesn't get better than this.

A throwback to the classico early days of Ween.  A cacophany of sounds and textures seemingly captured live (for the most part).  On an album full of tightly orchestrated bangers it's damn nice to take a little detour into browner tributaries.  

Jay starts off by completely dropping the ball by confusing this song with Alcan Roads.  Then Dave (being the professional broadcaster that he is) "Yes Ands" his way through it and we have a load of laughs and witty banter.  Enjoy.

Much PWS lore is unlocked in this episode.  Confirmation of the Satana story.  A must listen for those interested in Ween-canon....within the Ween-ouvre.   Ouvre.  

And coming right off the heels of a meth fueled "It's Gonna Be A Long Night" Ween pulls the E-Brake and Tokyo Drifts the car off a cliff in slo-motion with ZOLOFT.  Don't try to get too comfy with the vibe...it's gonna change at every turn of the track.

A Cat Fight it shall be.  Ween makes sure we wake the hell up before we start listening to Quebec.  This is not a game.  This is for reals.

Kicking off Season 9 of Pod Ween Satan with a traditional overview of the album. Here's what we were able to dig up about quintessential Ween album "Quebec".

Boy oh boy did that album fly by or what?  The boys close White Pepper out with a gentle love song that would bring a tear to a Gad's eye which, now that I think about it, isn't too hard to do.  I'm not sure what's worse: The fact that the French surrendered to the Nazis in just six weeks or Gad breaking down in tears after 5 days of a pandemic.  BUT I DIGRESS Enjoy the closer to Season 7.  We lov...
