New series! And an early one at that. We are reading the brand spanking new book from Troy Denning, Halo: Outcasts! The story acts as a bridge of sorts between Halo 5 and the events of Halo: The Rubicon Protocol. As a note: we received our copies of the book EARLY courtesy of the publisher. That being said our opinions are our own. With that out of the way, let's dive in and see what Thel 'Vadam a...

New series! We are starting X-COM: UFO Defense which is a novelization of the original MicroProse game created by the Nick and Julian Gollop. This game ultimately inspired the remake from Firaxis which did away with that pesky hyphen and became XCOM. This novel is written by Diane Duane who has a list of credits a mile long. So strap in, get your laser rifle, and lets hunt some sectoids. We have o...

On today's episode we start our journey through Diablo: The Black Road by Mel Odom. Not the painter Mel Odom, but the author for hire! This book is pretty highly rated from what we've seen on various "reading apps" but so far we remain unconvinced. But there's plenty of Kevin Klein in Pirates of Penzance References we make so hopefully that makes up for it? We have opened up our Patreon so if you...

Hey friendos, we are back with Part 2 of SD Perry's Resident Evil: City of the Dead. Just as an experiment I asked Google Bard to write an episode description for this episode. Do you know what it said? It said that this is a bad book and that we'd be making fun of the book in this episode. Let me tell you, Google Bard, and the AI schlock peddlers wouldn't know a good book if it bit them in the bi...

This is CERTAINLY a BOOK. Written by Jane Jensen and based on the video game of the same name, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers tells the story about a terrible writer who decides to investigate the Voodoo Murders in New Orleans. It goes places. As a Content Warning the depictions of Voodoo and the black residents of New Orleans leaves a lot to be desired. If that doesn't sound like your cup of...

Jesse joins Kevin and Phil once again to talk movies. This episode we are getting into the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie, a weird flick featuring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo as the titular brothers. Content Warning: There's a 9/11 joke toward the end of the episode, so, if that isn't your cup o' tea feel free to skip!  Next week kicks off our next series, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers...
