Today's text is Luke 15:1-10. Jesus tells three "lost and found" parables. One of them is very famous (the Lost Son/Prodigal Son).  We start with this: why does Jesus tell these parables in the first place? What motivates Jesus to teach these parables? Then we move to: How do view these parables? Are we the searchers, or are we the searched for?

Luke 14:25-33 is the main text for this sermon. We are continuing in our sermon series called "Outsiders." Today's text deals with discipleship, specifically discipleship for the long haul. The quote that is used during this sermon is, "It's a lot easier to start something than it is to finish."
