Angela Cook - a long standing client of Brayvet and the owner of two lovely Labradors, Angel and Archie - passed away recently. Angela had appeared on Bray's local radio station, East Coast FM, on several occasions, and this is a short tribute to her, broadcast last week just before Pete Wedderburn's regular vet spot.

The figures for animal experimentation in Ireland seem to be on the rise, and this week, we discussed the complex issue of vivisection. This was just a short chat, and we really do need to look into this in more detail with better background information at some stage in the future.

A couple of subjects discussed on East Coast FM this week. There's a sad greyhound story in the news about former racing dogs being killed by a blunt blow to the head and then dumped - in Limerick. And we deal with this dilemma: when people find animals on the roads - domestic pets - where do they turn? Who bears the cost? It happens all the time....

This week on East Coast FM, we discussed the bizarre news story about an unfortunate elephant escaping from the circus and going for a ramble around a Cork suburb. We also discussed what the public should do about dead badgers that are the unlucky victims of road accidents, with their bodies being found beside the road.

In this week's audio clip, I discuss a problem that a listener has because she can't keep her dog fenced in, and she lives in the countryside. Are electric shock collars the answer? Also, more discussion on fur farming.
