People Becoming the Church
Canvas is People Becoming the Church— we want those who don’t know Jesus to discover Him and those who do know Him to grow in becoming more like Him. Together, we seek to worship God, grow in faith, connect in community, serve our world, and share the gospel. We believe that Jesus is the eternal difference-maker. He is the giver of life, the healer of brokenness, and the lover of every soul. Our lives, like a canvas, can get pretty messy. God wants to take our mess and turn it into a masterpiece.“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things...

Episode 3: Visible Faith | Part 3 | Everybody's Somebody 29.09.2026 44:09
Faith becomes visible in the way we treat people, and James confronts one of the clearest contradictions to a life of faith: favoritism. He pictures a church that honors the wealthy while dishonoring the poor and exposes the inconsistency of showing partiality while claiming to follow Jesus. The “royal law” to love our neighbor as ourselves leaves no room for selective love. The message should cha...
Episode 2: Visible Faith | Part 2 | Look In the Mirror 22.09.2026 49:41
James challenges us to examine whether our faith is actually shaping the way we live. He begins with the posture of a believer—being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry—then turns to the Word, warning us not to confuse hearing it with obeying it. Like someone who looks in a mirror and walks away unchanged, we can deceive ourselves if Scripture informs us without transforming u...
Episode 1: Visible Faith | Part 1 | Faith Under Pressure 15.09.2026 44:48
James begins by challenging believers to see trials differently—not as obstacles to faith, but as opportunities for faith to grow. As faith is tested, endurance is developed, and endurance leads toward spiritual maturity. James then distinguishes trials from temptation, showing that God uses trials to strengthen us but does not tempt us to sin; temptation comes from our own desires. Throughout it...
Episode 22: That You May Believe | Part 22 | Restored 08.09.2026 36:58
After everything that’s happened, the disciples return to what’s familiar. But Jesus meets them there; not to condemn, but to restore. Around a fire, Peter is confronted with his failure, but also reminded of his calling. Jesus doesn’t discard him, He recommissions him. Failure isn’t final—Jesus restores and sends.
Episode 21: That You May Believe | Part 21 | Brightest Dawn 02.09.2026 55:25
What began in darkness turns to light as the empty tomb is discovered. Confusion gives way to clarity, fear to joy, and doubt to belief. Jesus is alive—and everything has changed. But the resurrection isn’t just something to observe; it’s something to respond to. Because Jesus lives, life is available to anyone who believes. Episode 20: That You May Believe | Part 20 | Darkest Day 25.08.2026 36:39
What appears to be the darkest day in history unfolds as Jesus is crucified. Mocked, rejected, and ultimately killed. It seemed like evil won. But in His final moments, Jesus declares, “It is finished.” What looked like defeat was actually the completion of His mission. In the darkest moment, Jesus finished the work that gives us life. The cross wasn’t the end of the story, it was the turning poin...
Episode 19: That You May Believe | Part 19 | Truth On Trial 18.08.2026 45:16
As Jesus stands before Pilate, truth is no longer just discussed—it’s on trial. Pilate wrestles with what he knows is right, but pressure from the crowd and fear of consequences cloud his judgment. In the end, he doesn’t reject truth outright—he avoids it. This passage exposes a hard reality: we don’t get to define truth, but we do have to decide what we’ll do with it. Will you stand in truth… or...
Episode 18: That You May Believe | Part 18 | Stand or Fall 11.08.2026 36:48
As Jesus is arrested, the contrast couldn’t be clearer. He stands firm, speaking truth with clarity and authority, even in the face of power. Meanwhile, His followers falter. Peter, who once promised loyalty, denies even knowing Him. In the pressure of the moment, courage gives way to fear. This passage reveals a hard truth: pressure exposes whether we stand firm—or fall away. You don’t discover y...
Episode 17: That You May Believe | Part 17 | In, Not Of 04.08.2026 48:38
As Jesus prepares for the cross, He prays—not just for His disciples, but for all who would follow Him. In His prayer, He makes it clear that His followers are sent into the world, but they don’t belong to it. They are set apart by truth, united in purpose, and called to reflect Him in how they live. The tension is real: we’re in the world, but not of it—and learning to live in that tension is par...
Episode 16: That You May Believe | Part 16 | The Advocate 28.07.2026 35:44
As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, they are filled with grief. But He tells them something unexpected: it’s actually better that He goes. Why? Because His departure makes way for the Holy Spirit—the Advocate—who will guide them, convict the world, and remind them of the truth. Even in a world filled with trouble, Jesus offers a deeper assurance: we are not alone, and we are not wit...
Episode 15: That You May Believe | Part 15 | Abide 21.07.2026 46:50
Jesus describes Himself as the true vine and His followers as branches. The image is simple but clear: life doesn’t exist apart from Him. We may try to find it elsewhere, but ultimately we wither. As opposition grows, Jesus calls His followers to remain in Him— because apart from Him, there is no life, and true life is found in Him. Connection to Jesus isn’t helpful; it’s essential.
Episode 14: That You May Believe | Part 14 | Rest Assured 14.07.2026 39:00
As Jesus prepares His disciples for what’s ahead, their hearts are troubled. But instead of leaving them in fear, He offers comfort and assurance. He promises that they are not alone—the Father is at work, the Son is making a way, and the Spirit will come to help and guide them. In the midst of uncertainty, Jesus invites them to rest in this truth: our peace comes from knowing we are not alone.
Episode 13: That You May Believe | Part 13 | Follow the Leader 07.07.2026 50:03
In a moment that shocks His disciples, Jesus takes on the role of a servant and washes their feet. In sharp contrast to Jesus’ example of leadership, both Judas and Peter are close to Jesus, but neither are acting like him. Jesus doesn’t just talk about love, He shows it through humble service, and then calls his followers to do the same. In the end, love expressed through service is the mark of a...
Episode 12: That You May Believe | Part 12 | Dying to Live 30.06.2026 47:40
As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowds celebrate—but He knows the time has come. He begins to speak with urgency, revealing that following Him will cost everything. The path to life isn’t found in holding on, but in letting go. As the clock winds down, Jesus makes it clear: what you do with your life now has eternal consequences. If you try to save your life, you’ll lose it—but if you lose your lif...
Episode 11: That You May Believe | Part 11 | Do You Believe? 23.06.2026 29:44
When Lazarus dies, it seems like all hope is lost. But Jesus steps into the grief and makes a bold claim: He is the resurrection and the life. What follows isn’t just a miracle, it’s a revelation of who He truly is. In the face of death, Jesus asks a deeply personal question: do you believe? The question isn’t if your face death, it’s whether you’ll face it with hope. Because whoever believes in H...
Episode 10: That You May Believe | Part 10 | The Greatest Shepherd 16.06.2026 43:10
Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd; one who knows His sheep, calls them by name, and leads them to life. But not every voice leads to life. There are other voices competing for our attention, voices that ultimately steal, kill, and destroy. In the end, the voice you follow determines the life you live.
Episode 9: That You May Believe | Part 9 | 20/20 Vision 09.06.2026 40:59
Jesus speaks about a freedom that goes deeper than ancestry or circumstances—a freedom that comes from knowing the truth. But not everyone can see it. You can be confident you see clearly and still be completely blind. We see a man born blind who receives sight, while others who think they see remain in darkness. This passage reveals a powerful reality: Jesus sets us free so we can truly see—but o...
Episode 8: That You May Believe | Part 8 | I AM. 02.06.2026 42:09
Confusion and division continue to surround Jesus. Some are curious, others are skeptical, and many are unsure what to believe— Jesus’ brothers included. But Jesus doesn’t leave room for neutrality. He speaks clearly about who He is, even using the powerful words “I AM.” The tension builds to a simple but unavoidable question: will we believe Him, or walk away?
Episode 7: That You May Believe | Part 7 | Bread of Life 26.05.2026 38:57
Jesus doesn’t just meet needs, He is the need. After feeding the crowd, Jesus challenges their expectations by pointing them to something deeper. He isn’t just offering temporary provision… He is the Bread of Life. But this truth is hard to accept. Many who were curious begin to walk away, unwilling to embrace what Jesus is really saying. In the end, we’re faced with the same question: will we tru...
Episode 6: That You May Believe | Part 6 | Your Verdict 19.05.2026 44:11
In this passage, Jesus’ authority is on full display—given by the Father, witnessed by John the Baptist, and rooted in the Scriptures Moses wrote. The religious leaders resist, missing the truth that His words carry ultimate weight. The question is clear: who decides life or death? The answer is closer than you think, and it demands a response from each of us.
Episode 5: That You May Believe | Part 5 | Who's the Boss? 12.05.2026 31:05
People respond to Jesus in very different ways, in this passage. A royal official trusts Jesus’ word and sees his son healed, while others resist Him when He challenges their expectations; especially when He claims authority even over the Sabbath. The question underneath it all is simple but unavoidable: who’s really in charge? Whether we accept it or not, Jesus has authority over every part of ou...
Episode 4: That You May Believe | Part 4 | Living Water 05.05.2026 42:27
John the Baptist understood his role; he wasn’t the Savior; he was preparing the way. As Jesus’ ministry grew, John’s response was simple: “He must increase, I must decrease.” At the same time, Jesus was reaching people others avoided, offering living water to a Samaritan woman searching for satisfaction in all the wrong places. This passage reminds us that Jesus alone satisfies the deepest thirst...
Episode 3: That You May Believe | Part 3 | True or False 28.04.2026 48:20
Jesus isn’t fooled by appearances—He sees what’s really in us. That’s why He rejected the false religion in the temple; they had turned worship into an enterprise. Jesus is looking for true worshipers—those who love the light, not those who pretend to love it while running to the darkness.
Episode 2: That You May Believe | Part 2 | Come Follow 21.04.2026 45:46
As you can imagine, people weren’t quite sure what to do with Jesus. Even John appears confident here, though later we see he had questions as well. In this passage, we see a pattern that still holds true today: an invitation that leads to realization and revelation—and ultimately demands a response. The question we all have to answer is this: will we follow or not?
Episode 1: That You May Believe | Part 1 | God With Us 14.04.2026 43:31
In the opening lines of the Gospel of John, we’re introduced—almost poetically—to Jesus: who He is, why He came, and how we’re meant to respond. From beginning to end, John is helping us see these realities clearly so that we may believe and find life in His name.
