Wait Patiently on the Lord | Pastor Courtney Hall 27.02.2022 1:10:54
SCRIPTURE TEXT: James 5:1-20 We conclude our chapter-by-chapter sermon series on the Letter of James with the final section (chapter five), in which the early church leader & brother of Jesus named James writes to warn the wealthy not to misuse their riches or mistreat the poor; to encourage all believers to be patient in whatever suffering we may face; and to remind all people of the e...
Submit to God & Resist the Devil | Pastor Courtney Hall 20.02.2022 1:16:45
SCRIPTURE TEXT: James 3:1-18 In chapter four of his letter, James (a brother of Jesus & Early Church leader), asserts that discord among believers (as with people in general) comes from warring desires and selfish jealousies. Yet these fleshly attitudes reflect the devil rather than God. The solution according to James is thus to submit to God and resist the devil (v. 7). With a repenta...
Taming the Tongue | Pastor Courtney Hall 13.02.2022 1:01:31
SCRIPTURE TEXT: James 3:1-18 What “beast” proves the wildest to bridle? What “flame” starts the biggest fires? According to James, brother of Jesus & early church leader, it’s the human tongue that sparks the fiercest conflagrations, our own tongues that prove toughest to tame. As we turn to chapter three in our series on the Letter of James, we’re reminded that real wisdom won’t take ro...
Faith Works | Pastor Henjie Pimenta 06.02.2022 36:00

In the first half of the chapter, James charges believers to avoid showing any favoritism or partiality based on economic status or social influence. He concludes in the latter half by presenting one of the most powerful reminders in all of Scripture that faith withou...
Defeating the Double-Mind | Pastor Courtney Hall 30.01.2022 1:00:20
SCRIPTURE TEXT: James 1:1-27 With this message, we begin a new sermon series looking chapter-by-chapter at the Letter of James to the early Christians. Though James, a brother of Jesus, provided primary leadership to the Jerusalem "mother church" of the mid first century AD, his letter follows the patterns & values of Old Testament wisdom literature, focused on practical questions of fa...

In this message, Pastora Venida encourages us to patiently perceive all that the Lord has spoken through His prophets & apostles in the word; to patiently believe that God is always “right on time” in fulfill...
The Patience of Prayer: Rejoice, Request, Release, & Repeat | Pastora Hazel Hall 16.01.2022 49:24
SCRIPTURE TEXT: Philippians 4:4-7; Romans 12:12 In Philippians 4:4-7, The Apostle Paul presented a powerful pattern for patient prayer that resonates with other writings of his to the early church (such as Romans 12:12 & 1 Thessalonians 5:14-19) & with patterns of patience also provided by the Old Testament prophet Habakkuk. Using these & other passages, Pastora Hazel Hall contin...
The Patience of Love: Let Patience Proclaim the Presence of God | Pastor Courtney Hall 09.01.2022 45:07
SCRIPTURE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 13:4 Continuing our focus on PATIENCE as revealed in the Scriptures, Pastor Court delivers a message on the patience of LOVE drawn from the classic “love chapter” of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13. Examining a variety of other scriptural passages on the patience of love also draws our attention to how this kind of godly, patient, kind, & forgiving love gives w...

The Patience of Purpose: Equipped for Every Good Work | Pastor Courtney Hall 26.12.2021 49:12
SCRIPTURE TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:1-17 “These are the times that try men’s souls,” wrote Thomas Paine nearly 250 years ago, but his words describe our times, as well. Some two millennia ago, the Apostle Paul wrote to his protégé Timothy in a similar vein, that trying times lay ahead in which “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Tim 3:12 ). How can the people of God...
Light in the Night | Pastor Courtney Hall 28.11.2021 47:30
SCRIPTURE TEXT: Matthew 1:18-25 Matthew chapter one tells “how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about” (v. 18), a story that brings us joy every year. It’s easy to overlook how bewildering & full of risk the Lord’s plans must have seemed to the people involved, though. Joseph, surmising that his impregnated fiancée Mary had been unfaithful, planned to separate from her. Then God’s li...
Animosity With Ammon | Pastor Courtney Hall 03.10.2021 45:48
SCRIPTURE TEXT: Judges 10:1-18; 11:4-6; 12-18; 12:8-15 In the hundreds of years that transpire over the course of the Biblical book of Judges, many situations arose in which the people of Israel had to deal with animosity & adversity, both within their own nation among the tribes & regions, and with other groups around them, including the animosity with Ammon that gave rise to the judgesh...
What Have I Accomplished? - Gideon’s Conclusion | Pastor Courtney Hall 19.09.2021 1:07:48
SCRIPTURE TEXT: Judges 8:1-35 As our life lengthens, each of us becomes more likely to ask "What have I accomplished..." (Judges 8:2a). Coming to the conclusion of our study of the life of Gideon the judge, we see that while God used Gideon to accomplish great & liberating victory for Israel, the legacy of strife, snares, & sin wrought by idolatry reared again in the leader'...
The Lord is Peace: Gideon's Call | Pastor Courtney Hall 23.08.2021 56:09
SCRIPTURE TEXT: Judges 6:1-24 Judges chapters 6-8 tell the tale of Gideon, one of the most notable of the major judges & one whom the Lord Himself called a “valiant warrior” (Judges 6:12). That greeting from God proves all the more remarkable because it came to Gideon while he was effectively in hiding. Indeed, Gideon’s initial call to courage can arouse faith in our hearts today, too, as we s...
Left-Handed Lions Othniel, Ehud, & Shamgar | Pastor Courtney Hall 08.08.2021 1:03:20
SCRIPTURE TEXT: Judges 3:7-31 In Judges 3 we meet three initial judges of Israel: a lionhearted warrior from the "Joshua Generation" ( Othniel ); a left-handed leader ( Ehud ); & a "leftover" judge in the last verse of the chapter who stills casts a long legacy in the Scriptures ( Shamgar ). From these three judges, Pastor Court formulates lessons on "the left hand of leadership," a Biblical c...
The Name of Jesus | Pastor Emanuel Madeja 11.07.2021 1:07:57
The Name of Jesus, like Christ Jesus Himself, has been highly exalted as “the Name above all [other] names” (Philippians 2:9). Jesus taught His disciples to “ask anything in My Name, and I will do it” (John 14:14 ). When the Apostle Peter declared healing to a lame man in Acts 3:6, he did it “in the Name of Jesus Christ” and informed the astonished crowd, “It is Jesus' Name & the faith that co...
The Root and the Branches | Pastor Courtney Hall 06.06.2021 1:03:05
Romans chapters 9-11 explain God’s faithfulness to & through His people Israel. Even when they did not remain fully faithful to Him (just as no other people have), “It is not as though God’s word had failed” (Rom 9:6) for the promise of God’s righteousness could only ever be received by faith (Rom 4). In Christ “there is no distinction between Jew & Gentile” (Rom 10:12 ). Yet in chapter 11...
Christ: The Purpose of the Law | Romans 10:1-21 | Pastor Courtney Hall 30.05.2021 49:55
In chapter ten of his letter to the Roman church, the Apostle Paul declares Jesus Christ as "the culmination of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes" (v 4). The Greek term translated "culmination" or "end" can also be rendered as "purpose." God's purpose for His people is made known & available through our Savior Jesus. He is not far removed from us but is as close as God's word...
All Creation Groans: Revealing the Love That Intercedes | Romans 8:18-27 | Pastor Courtney Hall 09.05.2021 1:01:12
At the heart of one of the greatest books of the Bible, the letter to the Romans, we find the heart of God. In this second of three sermons on Romans chapter 8, Pastor Court discusses the LOVE of God that intercedes for those who love Him & are called according to His PURPOSE (Rom 8:28 ). Though we live in frail bodies & in a fallible world, in which all creation groans & we ourselves...
No Condemnation in Christ: Receiving the Love That Overcomes | Romans 8:1-17 | Pastor Courtney Hall 02.05.2021 58:54
In the center of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Christians of first-century Rome, we find one of the greatest chapters of the Bible, Romans 8. In this first of three sermons on that chapter, Pastor Court leads us to examine the LOVE that is not only at the heart of the book of Romans but is indeed the very heart of God towards those who love Him & are called according to His PURPOSE (Rom 8:2...
The Father's Will: A Living Trust | Pastor Courtney Hall 25.04.2021 1:03:22
Continuing our study of Paul’s letter to the Roman Christians, we come in chapter seven to the Apostle’s discussion of the freedom available in Christ from the burdens of breaking the law as we “serve in the new way of the Spirit & not in the old way of the written [law] code” (v. 6). That very Spirit bears witness that all in Christ are children of God & “fellow heirs with Christ” of all...
Think Great Thoughts... | Ephesians 3:20 | Pastor Venida Antonio 11.04.2021 36:30
Our attitude & actions reflect our internal thoughts and contemplation (Proverbs 23:7), or, as Jesus said, "Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45 ). As followers of Jesus, we're told in Ephesians 3:20 that God "is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." Such admonitions embolden us to think great th...
The Lord's Coming (SERVICE) | Palm Sunday 2021 | Pastor Courtney Hall 28.03.2021 1:33:40
For thousands of years, Jesus' coming was foretold, including details as specific as His riding into Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:4-5), a central event of Palm Sunday & the beginning of Jesus' final week before His death on the Cross. Thousands more years have now passed, but the promise of His return remains, "for the coming of the Lord is nea...
My Story Is God's Story | Ephesians 1:3-14 | Pastor Art Cabrera 21.03.2021 53:03
We often rightly hear of the Creator that all of history is really HIS story. Yet He who made human beings in His own image has also placed them squarely within His story (Ephes 1:4-6), & put the Man Jesus Christ--Himself truly God--at its very center (cf. John 1:1-5; Col 1:15 -19). As we come to new birth in Christ, we discover that God's story of Good News is for us! And as we see our lives...
