Jesus the Son of God endured the wrath of God the father so that you could be cleansed and given a new heart! And the historical fact of the resurrection is proof Christ’s payment on the cross for your sin was accepted! The resurrection is historical proof that there is a God, that he hates sin, but he loves you so much that he made a way for you to be set free. This is why we celebrate Easter.

The Story of Mark Chapter 5:1-20 reminds us that there is a real enemy that we face, and he is hateful, powerful, and cowardly. But ultimately he is subject Jesus' authority. Because Christ is sovereign, we need not fear our adversary because Christ is the one who sets us free.

If there is a truth that we need to keep in mind as we grow in our walk with Christ is the truth that Jesus will not fit into our mold. Jesus will not bend to our preconceived ideas. Jesus can not be confined to our expectations. And we see this through out the beginning of Mark. But in Mark chapter 2:13-17 we will see just how unexpected and scandalous Jesus grace is. When the paralytic was lowered to Christ, Jesus said something no one expected! He said your sins are forgiven. And by doing so, Jesus was doing more than healing this man, he was making a clear statement about who he really is. And that truth is the foundation of what we believe about Christ. As we approach the new year we are prone to reflect on where we are in our lives. And this is a good thing. But one of the most important question you need to ask yourself this time of year and every time of year is "where are you in your walk with Christ?"
