Psalm 147 was most likely written by an unknown psalmist after the remnant returned from captivity in Babylon, and they had rebuilt the temple and rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. They possibly sang this psalm as they celebrated the greatness and goodness of the LORD who had restored them, healed them, protected them, and provided for them (vv. 1-11).
