Kids EN ↓ 59 episodes

I’m Dr. Cara Goodwin, child psychologist and mom of three. Parents, here’s the problem. We face questions each moment of the day about what is best for our children but we lack the time to research each and every question we face. My primary goal is to get research-backed information into your hands that is accurate, relevant, and helpful. As a parent of four young kids, I am definitely “in it” myself. Parenting Translator is where we share all the research that is important to me as a psychologist and mom and explain it in an unbiased way that can change your life and your kids’ lives today.

Choosing Your Child's Name (According to Research) 28.06.2023

As I enter the final stretch of my pregnancy, I'm asked again and again what I'm planning to name my baby and what I really wanna say to all those people who ask this incredibly sensitive question is that no matter what answer you provide, you're opening yourself up to unsolicited comments and criticism. The name that you choose for your child will go with them throughout life. And of course, this...

Do Trigger Warnings Actually Help? 20.06.2023

In this podcast and on my social media pages, I often discuss very controversial and sensitive subjects such as birth trauma and maternal morbidity.
