It is vital to have a correct understanding of FAITH to avoid serious error. (1) Faith is more than mere Intellectual assent (believing certain facts). (2) FAITH is NOT a WORK, but an attitude of the HEART, TRUSTING in CHRIST alone and HIS WORK for us. (3) WORKS are the PRODUCT of FAITH.

Faith is a GIFT from God, given through His WORD: "Faith comes by hearing the Word of God” (Rom 10:17). "The ENTRANCE of Your WORDS (into our heart) brings LIGHT (FAITH)" (Ps 119:130). God works by giving His Word that imparts to us the faith to receive. We give many illustrations of this truth.

God values FAITH highly. We need FAITH to please God. It is the substance and foundation of our whole spiritual life, our connection to God, the Channel through which He works. We receive God's POWER and GRACE through our FAITH. We are called to LIVE, STAND, WALK and TALK by FAITH.

FAITH is TRUST in a PERSON and His PROMISES. So our faith is not just based on knowing what He said, but also on knowing the CHARACTER of the One Who said it. Our CONFIDENCE in God’s FAITHFULNESS to do what He promised helps us to cross the threshold into possessing the promise.

This is a study of the Great Commission of Jesus from all 4 Gospels. These are His marching orders for us, for He wants all men to be saved. (1) He SENDS (authorises) us to speak the saving WORDS of the Gospel. (2) He also ANOINTS us with the POWER of His Holy Spirit to fulfil our Mission.

God wants to HEAL us, but often BLOCKAGES must be removed before His Glory (Healing) can be revealed (Isaiah 40:3-5). The major blockage is UNFORGIVENESS (Mark 11:25-26). Pastor Hilary explains how to recognise and uproot any root of bitterness in your heart, and to freely forgive (Hebr 12:15).

The Great Commission is in all 4 Gospels. We are all commanded to be a witness to Christ, with both our LIPS and LIFE, letting the light of the Gospel shine as well as doing good works (Matt 5:14-16), for men are only saved through the Gospel (Romans 1:16). As we share it, the Spirit will work through us.

The heart should constantly RECEIVE and RELEASE (pump) the spirit-life of God from our spirit to every part of our life (John 7:38). We must keep our heart free from blockages to this flow of life (Prov 4:23). In this message, Derek explains how to remove the 2nd BLOCKAGE - UNFORGIVENESS.

The HEART is the deepest part of the soul, at the junction of soul and spirit (Hebr 4:12). It RECEIVES the life of the spirit and RELEASES it into our soul and body (Prov 4:23). So we must keep our heart free from things that block this flow of life. (1) We explain how to remove the blockage of UNBELIEF.

God’s life in our spirit must flow through our heart (Jn7:38). So our heart condition determines the flow of His life in us (Prov 4:23). 3 Blockages must be removed: (1) unbelief, (2) unforgiveness, and (3) CARNALITY (Heb 12:15-17) - being flesh-ruled, valuing & minding earthly things above spiritual things.

Even though healing is ours in Christ through His Atonement, we still have to come to God to receive it (Mark 11:24). Blind Bartimaeus is an example of how to receive (Mark 10:46-52). COME to Jesus and CALL OUT to Him for your HEALING, and RECEIVE it now. Your faith must have a VOICE.

God’s remedy for both sin and sickness is the same - the Atonement of Christ. On this basis He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:1-3). Hilary shows how this is revealed in Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, Galatians 3:13-14, 1Peter 2:24 and in the Type of the Passover Lamb.

The Lord is full of compassion and greatly desires to show His healing mercies to us (Psalm 145). So Jesus was moved with compassion and healed the sick. In this study Hilary presents the compassion of Jesus as revealed in His healing ministry, and points out that Jesus is the same today (Hebr 13:8).

Proverbs 4:20-23 promises that if we receive God's words they will be life unto us and medicine for all our flesh. It also gives instructions for taking God's medicine.

God is looking for those whose heart is perfect toward Him: “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal (perfect) toward Him” (2Chronicles 16:9). Those with a PURE heart toward Him will see His power and glory. Our Lord Jesus should be our PORTION, our ALL in ALL.

Knowing and submitting to the Lordship of Jesus begins at salvation and is the key to true spiritual growth. He is worthy to receive our obedience and worship as Lord because He gave Himself to us to be our Saviour.

In Revelation 2:2-4 Jesus calls us to: (1) REMEMBER what He has done for us and our first love for Him. (2) REPENT - admit the fault is OURS! (3) RETURN to our first love.
